We honestly believe there’s nothing quite like a safari holiday.

Maybe it’s the wide open spaces, the smell of the bushveld, sunsets that are better than Netflix, and early mornings that start the day with adventure.

It’s cooking over an open fire and sitting around the campfire long after dinner. It’s being close enough to incredible wildlife to really watch and learn — discovering birds, understanding how things work and why, noticing the plants, following footprints, and sitting quietly at a waterhole watching the bush come alive.

It’s all the little moments that make a safari so special.

A safari isn’t just a trip. It’s a different way of seeing.

We’ve taken our own kids on safari since they were little, and we’ve learnt that the greatest moments aren’t just the big sightings. They’re the conversations while waiting for something to appear. The excitement over a dung beetle, the silence in the early morning. The campfire chats, the questions that only seem to come when life slows down.

Safari teaches patience without calling it a lesson. It gives children perspective, sparks curiosity and grows gratitude for nature, for adventure and for family time together.

The moments that shape a trip aren’t always the ones you photograph. They’re the things your child says, notices and remembers in their own unique way.

That’s why we created Zwela.

Not just to give kids something to do, but to give them somewhere to capture the adventure through their own eyes. Because long after the safari is over, it’s their words, drawings and stories that bring those moments back to life.
