One thing nobody really tells you about releasing music independently: At some point, you become the artist, the label, the marketer, the salesperson, the logistics department and the booker all at once.
Over the last weeks, I promoted the album, answered emails, wrote press releases, pitched journalists and held our first ever vinyl in my hands. A strange and beautiful feeling after years of writing songs in small rooms and wondering if any of it would ever leave them.
What I found most challenging wasn’t making the album. It was learning how to talk about it. How do you “sell” something that feels deeply personal? How much of yourself do you put out there? And what if nobody listens?
Somewhere along the way, I found an answer that feels right for me: you make the album for yourself first. Because you have something you want to explore, express or understand. Everything that happens afterwards is a gift.
On Serenity became exactly that for me. A process of connecting dots, finding clarity and rediscovering the joy of making music.
