Unfortunately I had some Tally Assuit taken from in an Aramex shipment sent to Austraila for the SYNTHESIS festival. Please keep a look out for these items for sale any where... Thank goodness I have photos of the product.

A huge thank you the everyone at SYNTHESIS Festival in Brisbane, Australia. What an incredible platform to share the story of the women artisans of Egypt who make the Tally Assuit embroidery. We talked of preserving traditional artistry and supporting skilled artisans over mass produced product.
Cultural appropriation of the Tally Assuit craft was also discussed and how the craft has been reproduced for profit without the artisans knowledge or consent.
Its time to acknowledge their rights, as we do in other countries. The moari cultural designs in NZ, the Aboriginal cultural designs in Australia and so on. The artisans of Tally Assuit in Egypt have the same rights to their cultural heritage craft as every other culture has. This is their wish to be heard and considered.
Exciting steps are being taken by the government of Egypt, who has sent a delegation of Tally Assuit artisans to Geneva, to educate them on their rights to intellectual property and to safe guard their jobs in this craft.
To get to share the history and current situation of the handicraft on behalf of the women has been such an incredible opportunity. I hope this is the start of many projects like this and can't thank Bronnie Coffey and Xaeda Raqasa enough for sponsoring and all the

Egypt hosted the regional forum on intellectual property and female entrepreneurs. Tally embroidery was represented for Egypt and they shared the importance of their work in cultural heritage of Egypt and protecting their jobs. Intellectual property is at the forefront of their mission these days to educate people. I am so proud they are working towards recognition with the government's help. ❀️❀️❀️❀️

I hand dyed cream tulle to make the base of this stunning Lapis Blue custom dress. It's 1 of a matching pair made for Isabella Salimpour πŸ’™ that arrived from the artisans today. This dress took nearly 3 months to make using traditional egyptian motifs. I can't wait to see them both on stage in all their beauty. 😍
