الصورتان هنا تحملان نفس الفكرة، لكن مع اختلاف في التعليق وملابس الزوجة.
الأولى نُشرت في مجلة الجيل الجديد – العدد ١٤٥ بتاريخ ٤ أكتوبر ١٩٥٤م – الصفحة ١٨.
🔹 التعليق في الصورة الأولى:
الزوجة: علشان تعرف غلاوتك عندي راح أكسر عراسك كل الحاجات الغالية اللي في البيت يا حبيبي!
🔹 التعليق في الصورة الثانية:
في عرضك يا روحي.. اضربيني يا رصاص.. اضربيني بالجزمة.. بس بلاش تضربيني بالفازة أم عشرين جنيه..!!
بأسلوبه الساخر، يُظهر رخا المفارقة بين الغضب والودّ داخل العلاقات الزوجية، ويمثل كلاً من منظور المرأة والرجل. المثير أن قيمة عشرين جنيهًا في ١٩٥٤ كانت كبيرة جدًا، بينما بعد أكثر من سبعين عامًا أصبحت قيمتها لا تُقارن — وهو ما يعكس كيف يظل الفن شاهدًا على الزمن والتغيرات
These two illustrations carry the same idea, but with different captions and outfits for the wife.
The first was published in El Geel El Gadeed magazine, issue 145 on October 4, 1954 (p.18).
🔹 Caption in the first illustration:
Wife: To show you how precious you are to me, I’ll break all the valuable things in the house on you, darling!
🔹 Caption in the second illustration:
For heaven’s sake, my love… hit me with a bullet, throw a shoe at me… but please don’t hit me with the twenty-pound vase!!
With his sharp humor, Rakha captures the irony between affection and anger in marital relationships, representing both the female and male perspectives. Back in 1954, twenty Egyptian pounds had a huge value, while seventy years later its worth has dramatically diminished, a reminder of how art freezes time and social realities.
