Experience two active voices on the Danish poetry scene engage each other in conversation and reading, as Glenn Christian and Rasmus Halling Nielsen have instead agreed to prepare questions for each other to respond to.

Join us in this intimate space of readings, engagement and conversations in LiteraturHaus, Sal at 16:00. The event will be in Danish.

N.B. Due to a cancellation by Juliana Spahr, this will not be an event on network theory and poetry.

That it goes on like this – that is the catastrophe: Droughts, floods melting of poles. With increasing pace human engagement with resources, radically changes the conditions on our planet and confronts us with the idea of a world void of life. Can poetry manifest a critique of this future? Can it contribute to organizing new ways of confronting this horizon and help us build new relations with our environment?

Don’t the miss the readings and conversation on eco poetry by Morten Chemnitz and Liv Sejrbo Lidegaard today at 14:00. Moderator: Gregers Andersen. This event will be in Danish.

Can apathy be a form of activism? Can negligence, passivity, and hesitation themselves constitute spaces of political action? In Ida Börjel's poetry, the answer to these questions is a resounding 'yes!'

Do not miss --> 16.30 in LiteraturHaus: people reading aloud together: a polyfon and multi-linguistic reading of The Sabotage Manuals.

We are very pleased to announce a surprise performance! Stepping in for Kei Miller our very own Henrik Nordbrandt will read from his poetry. Throughout his 50 years of writing, Nordbrandt has presented a beautiful universe of longing, love, mourning, and missed encounters, in the slippage of his ever expanding lines. As such, he seems to perfectly embody Susan Sontag’s demand for an erotics of art.

Nordbrandt will read tonight at 21:00, together with Kayo Chingonyi and Sara Margrethe Oskal.

Today, the borders against which Kei Miller (JAM/UK) tirelessly writes, are more present than ever. Due to complications with obtaining a visa, he has, unfortunately, had to cancel his participation at the festival. Miller would have participated in a reading, and the event ”Disturbing History” – a conversation on poetry as a way of writing against established historical notions. As a necessary voice on the international poetry scene, there can be no doubt that his absence will be felt at Reverse Festival:

You see, the rastaman
has always felt uneasy
in the glistening white splendour
of Great Houses: uneasy
with the way others
seem easy inside them,
their eyes that smoothly scan the green canefields
like sonnets,
as if they’d found
a measure of peace
in the brutal architecture of history

Dear all,

It is with great regret that we have to announce that Juliana Spahr and Joshua Clover have come down with a flu, and are unable to participate in the festival. However unfortunate this is, we feel very lucky to have a great list of participants, some of whom have been willing to accommodate these changes: a special thanks to Kasper Opstrup for making the literary activism workshop on Saturday rise again (now as a spontaneous reading circle), and to moderator Oskar Sjøgren, Glenn Christian and Rasmus Halling Nielsen for making the event ”This connection” on Sunday possible, though with a slightly different focus.

We look forward to opening the doors tomorrow to what is turning out to be an amazing festival!
