What do you think of these new ‘rocking plants?
The upcoming LEGO Botanicals set 11506 Rocking Plants, a follow-up to last year’s 10349 Happy Plants, contains 253 pieces, is aimed at ages 9+, releases May 1, 2026, and is priced at $AUD29.99 / $USD22.99 / £17.99 / €19.99.

The LEGO group sent the set over for an early look, all opinions are my own), and the review is now live at https://ramblingbrick.com/2026/04/26/11506-rocking-plants/

The builds are relatively simple: a great introduction to botanical builds of you are relatively unfamiliar with the LEGO SYSTEM, and the final results are delightful. I find it hard to not rock the plants back and forward whenever I see them. I never expected botanicals to embrace play features. You can force them to hold hands, but that then leaves them relatively static. I do love the arrival of the vintage town hose in bright green: I think it has a lot to offer the theme.

But there are a couple of things that bug me.
Personally, I’m not a fan of naming my pot plants, and the models come pre- named as Ella and Lumi.
The flowers are a little fiddly- that fine- but the repeated appearance of the 1x1x1 quarter dome element that has only one point of attachment feels somewhat limiting for using the set as a starter pack for your own builds. The claws are a little more functional.
That said, I never expected to make a helicopter from last year’s happy plants, either!

What do you think?

11506 Rocking Plants still keep us Happy.

Last year, the LEGO® Botanical theme gave us 10349 Happy Plants, anthropomorphic potplants with a whimsical grin and a green hairstyle. Botanicals has been one of the big successes in the LEGO portfolio over the past few years, bringing new people to LEGO building, and bringing others back after a many-year gap. Happy Plants was one of those sets that was relatively inexpensive, simple to build, and brought a delightful end result to the display space. Knowing that when you are on a good thing, stick to it, it would appear that "Plants in small, whimsical smiling pots" is becoming a subtheme of Botanicals with the upcoming release of 11506 Rocking Plants....

Who would believe that it is now 25 years since the release of Shrek?
This was on high rotation as my kids were growing up, and I have to admit that I was happy to spend an exhausted afternoon with the film on, again! Today the LEGO Group and Dreamworks have revealed two sets celebrating the successful franchise.

72423 Shrek: Shrek, Donkey & Puss in Boots

Hitting the big screen 25 years ago, Shrek turned the fairy-tale world upside down (and we’ve been quoting it ever since!) Now, fans can return to the swamp in an entirely new way. With the launch of the new LEGO Shrek sets, audiences can recreate favourite scenes and relive iconic moments from the beloved franchise. Combining cinematic nostalgia with hands-on creativity, LEGO Shrek invites builders to bring the magic of the swamp to life in brick form.

Adult fans can reminisce on 25-years of Shrek with the detailed LEGO Shrek, Donkey & Puss in Boots posable display set for ages 18+. Featuring brick-built Shrek and Donkey, plus a Puss in Boots minifigure, this set is on a swamp base with the classic “Beware Ogre!” sign.

Other nods to the film include sunflowers, an onion and a blue flower with red thorns. Discover hidden Easter eggs tucked inside Shrek’s gut for an extra layer of fun.

Celebrating its 25th anniversary this year, the Shrek franchise, known for its layered storytelling, iconic soundtrack and endlessly quotable moments, continues to inspire generations and deliver lasting nostalgia. It proves that great stories, much like ogres, have layers that stand the test of time.

The new LEGO Shrek sets will be available for pre-order starting today, via and available to purchase in LEGO retail stores worldwide, and on LEGO.com, starting June 1st.

11506 Rocking plats comes with two happy flower pots - one rocks back and forward, while the other from side to side. The plants are interchangeable and I love the detail at the base of their roots.
We have Lumi the Delosperma cooperi and Ellie the Esceveria elegans - I’m not sure how I feel about these plants in pots having proscribed names, but I can see the reasoning behind it.
The LEGO group sent the set over for an early look. I enjoyed the build, and there is an interesting parts selection, with plenty of pink and spring yellowish green recolours.
The set will come out in May 2026, priced at $aud29.99; $usd22.99; £17.99; 19.99€
