Refining: the process of purification of a physical material.
The term is usually used of a natural resource that is almost in a usable form, but which is more useful in its pure form.
The term is broad, and may include more drastic transformations.
Methods such as (1) being compressed until liquified or (2) extraction with a selective solvent that dissolves away either the substance of interest, or the unwanted impurities.

In some cases by an alteration of the contact time it is possible to alter the selectivity of the extraction.

Many solids can be refined in an impure material; the regular structure tends to favor the desired material and exclude other kinds of particles.

• minerals and sediments locked within the ice of a glacier when carried and deposited by the streams of water derived from melting glaciers

Occurs naturally through the processes of weathering and erosion,
is broken down and subsequently transported by the action of water and ice or by the force of gravity acting on the particles.

Glaciers move downhill by the force of gravity and the internal deformation of ice.

Some irregular hills form when meltwater deposits sediments through openings in the interior of the ice.

Small amounts of stress can result in a large amount of strain, causing the deformation to become a plastic flow rather than elastic. Then, the glacier will begin to deform under its own weight and flow across the landscape.

The rate of internal flow, can be modeled as follows
Σ = kτ^n
where:
Σ = shear strain (flow) rate
τ = stress
n = a constant between 2–4
k = a temperature-dependent constant

A large piece of compressed ice, or a glacier, appears blue, due to water molecules absorbing other colors more efficiently than blue.

Glaciers furthermore appear blue due to
the lack of air bubbles. All air is squeezed out by the increasing pressure.

I would have added a text to this drawing, but I’m too busy writing my master thesis at the moment. So, most of my mental capacity is put into identity loss and sense of self as a part of my thesis and leaves me no time for lyrical puzzles (nor for drawing at the moment)
But my study of identity loss and sense of self is indeed connected to the drawing, string of coherence, and I hope it leaves some food for thought and lets your mind wonder a bit 🌱
