Can’t think of a better place to launch this new chapter!

Following their 2022 performance, Nebala return to Midgardsblot in 2026 to present new material for the very first time.

Their upcoming second album, Rites of Passage, is shaped around the fundamental transitions of human life — birth, love, loss, aging and death — carried through sound, ritual and shared experience.

For this special performance, Nebala will bring a newly developed live format and a special guest, offering the first encounter with Rites of Passage to an audience deeply connected to its spirit.

“This is where the work meets people for the first time. That exchange is part of what completes it — and we can’t wait to bring it to Midgardsblot,” says Nebala founder Jonas Lorentzen.

Gosh we had some fun! Doing a 45 min fully improvised show with community singing at the end is something I hope we’ll continue doing no matter what happens down the line.

To have that on the edge feeling, kinda like an MMA fighter or something, you gotta be fully there, fully present or you’ll have a s**t time!😂
But when your being held by the beautiful Blót community, it almost can’t go wrong.

And thanks to my brothers Ghilli Prati and Giuseppe Palmisano , love you guys!

Ghilli has been and is a big part of the upcoming Nebala Album, and as we went in to the studio to record we started with a jam with loopers and various instruments. This year we’re recreating that jam for ya’ll

Midgardsblot 2025 – Improvised Set

While the next Nebala album continues to take shape, Nebala: Liminal offers a rare glimpse into the creative undercurrents of the project. This is not a traditional Nebala concert, but an improvised sonic rite led by Jonas Lorentzen and multi-instrumentalist Ghilli Prati (Clanargantia). 🥁🎼

Expect ambient textures 🌫️, ritual drones, and earthy etno-beat grooves that drift between worlds—evoking both stillness and pulse. Somewhere between fire and ice 🔥❄️, between memory and thought 💭, this set moves like a whisper from Loki’s breath 🌀—unfixed, unpredictable, and full of play.

A one-time offering. A hearth between albums. A threshold into sound. 🌌
