as a creative space we add a meaningful touch to special days, occasions, events, gift-giving with a touch of branding and product management. Over the period we have also assisted female owned start ups with marketing n admin support within our creative space. As a disabled person, my requests for accessibility are often met with hostility.

There is a surprising amount of anger directed at disabled people who ask to access the same spaces everyone else can.

When I point out that a sidewalk is unnecessarily blocked, some people accuse me of being dramatic.

When I talk about inaccessible restrooms, I'm told I'm looking for something to complain about.

When I mention that wheelchairs need room to maneuver, people tell me I should stay home if I can't handle a crowd.

I am not asking for luxury.

I am not even asking for perfection.

I just want equal access to the world around me.

Many of the barriers disabled people face are completely unnecessary.

The truth is that accessibility is not about making life easier for a small group of people.

It's about creating spaces where everyone belongs.

Disabled people should not have to fight for our right to access the world.

We should not have to justify the need for accessible entrances or usable restrooms.

The hostility says far more about society's discomfort with disability than it does about disabled people asking for basic accommodations.
