Who gets to pay?
Oil paints on unstretched canvas
40 cm × 50 cm
2026

recent work “Who Gets to Pay?” is a socially critical artwork about identity and structural privilege. The use of my Luxembourgish ID card as a payment method symbolizes that access to resources and opportunities is not neutral but tied to a socially constructed status. The aim of the work is to encourage collective reflection and to recognize the mechanisms that determine who has access and who is excluded. People with privilege should be able to question themselves constructively, while marginalized voices gain more space and visibility.

“Get well soon” is directed against all forms of discrimination and deliberately uses the familiar appearance of a medical certificate. The textual elements make societal misbehaviors visible while simultaneously creating irritation through their content. This satirical work shows that social incompatibility is an expression of a lack of self‑reflection and insufficient empathy, and therefore requires a kind of healing and change.

Self-medication
Colored pencil on paper

2025

Self-medication deals with alcoholism as a symptom of an invisible inner conflict. The work is based on a personal experience with someone close to me, whose alcoholism triggered anger and incomprehension in me for a long time. This project is an attempt to process these feelings artistically and presents a subjective perspective on a complex topic.

In terms of design, the work draws on the aesthetics of cigarette packaging, which uses warning labels. This visual language is transferred to alcohol bottles in the form of stickers that make possible reasons for alcohol abuse visible. The starting point of the image composition is a photograph of a wine bottle vending machine taken during a walk along the Moselle.

El noble arte de no hacer nada
30cm x 40cm
Oil paint on canvas

My most recent work is inspired by a style that creates a photorealistic effect using minimal brushstrokes. The photograph I took myself serves as a guide for composition and proportion. During the painting process, I deliberately deviate from a precise reproduction in order to create my own interpretation. The focus of the ex*****on is on the interplay of light and shadow, the combination of clear and diffuse brushstrokes, and a saturated color palette that avoids the use of black for shading.
