ALL MY HEROES ARE DEAD.

Since I've polluted my own accounts the last week with ugly, unelegant disgrace, time for some real heroes here and now. Never to be forgotten.

Marlene Dietrich. One of the greatest Germans of all times. Stood up for her ideas and fought against German hate politics her entire life. Dedicated anti-fascist and a role model for women’s emancipation.

When Dietrich died at the age of 90, her funeral service in Paris was attended by approximately 1,500 mourners in the church itself with thousands more outside. Three medals were displayed at the foot of the coffin recognising Dietrich’s fight against Na**sm.

Dietrich had requested to be buried in her birthplace Berlin, so her body was flown there on 16 May 1992. Her coffin was draped in an American flag and the cortege travelled through Berlin. However, there was little public acknowledgement of this event and comparatively few people attended the burial. On her last visit to (West) Berlin in 1960, she had been threatened and harassed, telling her to “go home”, and the police had feared disruptions of the funeral by neo-Nazi groups.

Berlin’s Mayor, the conservative Eberhard Diepgen, was jeered over the city’s failure to afford Dietrich a formal tribute, bowing to right-wing pressure. A wave of hate mail and insults such as “traitor” to a Berlin newspaper and the Senate administration had caused the Berlin Senate to cancel the planned transfer in a Bundeswehr jet and a memorial service in the Deutsches Theater in her honour.

Almost 8 months later, 1 December 1992, the Berlin Senate decided on an honorary grave, which was desecrated a year later, and it was not until her 100th birthday on 27 December 2001, that the city apologised for the hostility she had faced in Germany after the war. There was no mention of the controversies over naming a street after her, and nothing about the cancellation of the official commemoration. On 16 May 2002, Marlene Dietrich was posthumously made an honorary citizen of Berlin.

WITH JUGS FILLED WITH EXPLOSIVE LIQUIDS STRUNG TOGETHER BY RED WIRE, ARMOURED PERSONNEL CARRIERS FILLED WITH EXPLOSIVES, AND BULLDOZERS, THE ISRAELI MILITARY FLATTENED ENTIRE VILLAGES.

VIDEOS OF THE DESTRUCTION BEGAN TO EMERGE. SOME WERE PUBLISHED BY THE ISRAELI MILITARY ITSELF, OTHERS BY ISRAELI JOURNALISTS.

VILLAGES, SOME CENTURIES OLD, ARE NO LONGER RECOGNISABLE EVEN TO THEIR RESIDENTS.

DOZENS OF PEOPLE WERE KILLED YESTERDAY IN AN INTENSIVE WAVE OF ISRAELI STRIKES ACROSS SOUTHERN AND EASTERN LEBANON. AT LEAST 31 PEOPLE WERE KILLED IN THE LATEST ATTACKS, INCLUDING SEVERAL CHILDREN.

the fondation louis vuitton owns a painting by gerhard richter depicting gudrun ensslin (rote armee fraktion, baader-meinhof group). it was sold to them for 13.000.000 euro.

I cannot believe both the fondation nor gerhard richter ever got ‘problems’ or ‘remarks’ with this subject or work which was reduced to a pety bourgeois decorative investment object obviously, stripped from every possible content and message, how cynical.

Ever since I released the album ‘die 4. generation’ ant-zen records, which is a rough dissection on the theme, which was ‘colouring’ my partly german childhood back in those days, some voices call me out as the extremist or radical they desperately want to perceive me like. All better than the safe, non-dangerous and superficial ‘norm’ which is even taking over the scenes I am part of for 36years right now. So here’s one of my latest graphic works with miss Ensslin and some words as well.

Gestern habe ich aufgehört mich zu töten. Ich bin allein mit meinen Brüsten meinen Schenkeln meinem Schoß. Ich zertrümmre die Werkzeuge meiner Gefangenschaft, den Stuhl den Tisch das Bett. Ich zerstöre das Schlachtfeld das mein Heim war. Ich reiße die Türen auf, damit der Wind herein kann und der Schrei der Welt. Ich zerschlage das Fenster. Mit meinen blutigen Händen zerreiße ich die Fotografien der Männer die ich geliebt habe und die mich gebraucht haben auf dem Bett auf dem Tisch auf den Stuhl auf dem Boden. Ich lege Feuer an mein Gefängnis. Ich werfe meine Kleider in das Feuer. Ich grabe die Uhr aus meiner Brust die mein Herz war. Ich gehe auf die Straße, gekleidet in meinem Blut.

I dig the clock which was my heart out of my breast. I go onto the street, dressed up in my blood.
