Started the week with Frank the Tank recording vocals for the upcoming @stormhuntermetal Album. Frank and I made countless records for various bands (Bitterness, Stormhunter and Karamurat) during the already last 20 years 🤘🤘

Well, of course posting live footage from the recent THRON show in Turbinenhalle Oberhausen is not really "Iguana Studios content" - though I decided to share it here as well- since it's a big part of my life, work and passion to perform in front of a crowd, trying to transfer music, feelings, sound and emotions and all that to people.

So basically it is quite similar to what I do here in the studio all the time, but when doing records it is of course different and maybe more difficult since there is no interaction with the crowd/listeners, so you have to "be all together" by yourself when creating an album: Artist, producer, tech-nerd/engineer AND listener. It is important to not focus on the tech stuff only, but of course being top notch here is nothing bad :)

Since it seems to be impossible to upload multiple videos in one post on a business page (Facebook?!) I quickly edited a short collage from these 3 snipped I recently uploaded on my personal account.

By the way: I happily use and endorse products of Samsun Cymbals, Cube-Personal Drums, Artbeat drumsticks and ACD Unlimited

Oberhausen, this was definitely a night to remember!

After almost 2 years of isolation and distancing it was an incredible feeling to play in front of such an awesome crowd!

Since the weather seems to slowly turn into an autumn mode (unfortunately) I am currently working on the final touches of the Asgard album mix as well as I am finally putting my hands on the awesome @indaeira tracks which are waiting patiently since months .. oh and I am about to start mixing the upcoming @cravingofficial666 album soon! These songs are epic hymns and I had to save this candy stuff up for the very best. This summer season is just a crazy 16h a day studio party - after a lot of stuff was moved to the summer due to the Lockdown I am currently quite busy over here! Will use summer 22 for vacation :)

After we posted a first picture of the drumkit at Monday we decided to swap the Sabian AAX crashes to two of my @samsuncymbals - 19“ 21st Brilliant and 17“ 21st Brilliant which I play in my own setup as well. The Sabian are of course not bad but we all were much more pleased with the Samsuns - these had more tonality, a richer spectrum and a way nicer sustain. Since there is no way to change or „fake“ the sound in the mix it is so important to have the best possible sound right from the Mics.

Had a long and exhausting week recording bass and vocals for the upcoming Lotrify album! Unfortunately I forgot to take booring pictures of the recordings itself - but everyone knows what a 5 string bass guitar is or have seen a dude in front of a microphone. Beside some serious hard work we had a nice time and will continue later that year since I now have to continue with mixing a lot of nice music.
