Tetteh was falsely accused by Tengey of being his accomplice in a murder case after he, Tengey had received severe beatings from the public to name his accomplices before he will be spared the beatings. Tengey again falsely accused Gruma of being another accomplice when the beatings did not stop.Despite heavy protestations from Tetteh and Gruma that they knew absolutely nothing about the case, they were still sentenced to death with Tengey after shoddy police investigations. Poor Gruma died after spending just 3 months in prison out of shock. When I interviewed Tengey and Tetteh four years ago at the Ankafo Maximum Security Prison, Tengey confessed that his so called accomplices knew nothing about the murder but he deliberately named them with the hope that he will be spared the beatings and pleaded with Tetteh to forgive him. After spending a wasteful 33yrs in Prison Tetteh has been freed through presidential pardon with no compensation. This is so cruel to say the least in a country that prides itself as a CHAMPION OF HUMAN RIGHTS! We need to seek justice for Tetteh!
