At Hessisch Oldendorf, itโs easy to walk past something without realising just how incredible its story actually is.
This is one of those buses.
A ๐๐๐๐ ๐๐จ๐ฅ๐ค๐ฌ๐ฐ๐๐ ๐๐ง ๐๐๐ซ๐ง๐๐จ๐จ๐ซ panel van โ better known within the scene as the ๐๐๐ซ๐๐ฆ๐๐ฅ๐ฅ๐๐ง ๐๐๐ซ๐ง๐๐จ๐จ๐ซ.
And at one point, this bus wasnโt standing proudly at one of the biggest vintage Volkswagen gatherings in the world.

After being discovered, the remains eventually made their way to the UK, beginning an incredible journey back from what most people would probably have considered beyond saving.
Look closely and you can still see part of its former life.

An old German confectionery delivery van.
And instead of erasing those decades of history underneath layers of perfect new paint, its scars are still there for everyone to see.
The faded lettering.
The dents.
The rust.
The worn paint.

Itโs part of the story.
From delivering sweets in Germanyโฆ
to being left in the woodsโฆ
to standing amongst some of the worldโs most special Volkswagens at Hessisch Oldendorf.
More than 75 years later, itโs still here.

They donโt just show their age.
They show their life.
