This is where the conversation happens.

Every session starts the same way ,we talk.

What do you want this to feel like?
Where should it hit hardest?
What’s non-negotiable?

A good mix is like a tailored suit. It’s built around the person wearing it, not the other way around.
You wrote the songs. I make sure they fit.

When a musician trusts you with an old track — one that’s been sitting around waiting for the right treatment — that’s not something you take lightly.
Glad this one landed the way it did. Looking forward to the next one.
Got a track that deserves the same? Link in bio.

You’re using reference tracks wrong.
Here’s how to actually use them 🎧

1️⃣ Match loudness before you compare
A louder track always sounds better. Use a gain plugin or your DAW’s output to match levels before A/B-ing. Now you’re comparing tone, not volume.

2️⃣ Compare specific elements, not the whole mix
Focus on one thing at a time: how does the snare sit? Where does the bass live? How much space do the guitars take? Don’t try to hear everything at once.

3️⃣ Spend more time in your mix than in the reference
If you’re constantly flipping to the reference, you start chasing someone else’s decisions. Use it as a checkpoint, not a map.

⚠️ Your reference is a target, not a template.

Struggling to trust your mix decisions? DM me „Mixing“ and let’s talk about your process.

You should always low cut everything…

Here’s the overhead mic mistake that’s killing your drum sound.

You set up the overheads and never think about them again? That’s the problem.

1️⃣ Placement matters more than the mic
Overheads too close = washy, splashy cymbals with no definition. Pull them back and up and aim for the kit as a whole, not just the cymbals.

2️⃣ Spaced pair vs. XY, know the difference
Spaced pair = wide, immersive. XY = tight, mono-compatible, punchy.

3️⃣ Check phase against the kick and snare
The most common problem in DIY drum recordings: overheads out of phase with close mics. Flip the phase on one if the low end gets fatter, leave it.

⚠️ Expensive mics won’t save bad placement.

Recording your own drums? DM me „Mixing“ and let’s make sure you’re capturing them right.
