I often used to say that things just “happened to me” in life, and that I wasn’t the one in control. So how did I end up founding my mixing and mastering studio?
In 2019, I found a suitable room to start playing drums again. At first, I played alone, but soon with bands. The room received some acoustic treatment, but the live sound still wasn’t great. To improve it, I invested in a recording setup: microphones, headphones, and a mixer. Finally, we could hear each other clearly, and the feeling of making music was amazing! But once the practice ended, that feeling ended with it.
Since I already had the tools for recording, I thought: why not give it a try? Maybe it could capture more than just the sound. And it did! Still, the sound could have been better…
So, on my way to becoming a better drummer, I started chasing the perfect sound.
Studies. Experiments. More studies.
In the meantime, I recorded every session we had with the bands and mixed and mastered the songs we played. I enjoyed the entire process, continued my studies, and supported other bands and musicians in becoming better. And that’s when the idea of More Than Mix first appeared.
🎵 So, what does making music feel like to you?
