The idea of KUENDA productions was initiated by the young Ugandan dancer and choreographer Antonio Bukhar and the German theatre maker and producer Cindy Jänicke. Together with Plot Mhako from Zimba-bwe and Frederic Lilje from Germany they founded KUENDA in 2014. The idea is, to follow the vision of sustainable artistic, transglobal collaboration. e level with artists from different continents, background, styles and share visions of a forward-looking use and understanding of arts, devel-oping new ideas of what art can be through mutual learning. The central vision is, to breakdown stereotypes and racial segregation, as we engage people from different countries into working together, on a basis that they meet and create at an equal level. We stand in for a generation of artists that do not ask questions about one form, one style, and one artistic expression. We are on a journey, searching for the in-between. Starting from traditional roots, urban styles, things we find, we widen, change and rear-range them. We fuse Urban, Jazz, Pop, Contemporary forms, classical dance, and space. The format, working questions and ways of working together of each artist influences the end result; thus meaning that mutual wishes and shared responsibility are the main focus. International networking is part of sustaining the collaboration. With KUENDA, we want to work with dancers, theater makers, musicians, video artists and producers from different artistic and cultural backgrounds. We want to tell stories that change us, that make us laugh, think and move and that should be shared on a stage with others and an audience. Our experiences between the continents and our own wandering between worlds, makes us eager to tell stories that can connect. Some have met in different working contexts during the last years on different continents. Some artists will come by invitation, audition or by a simple wish to widen the team with further artists working on the same vision. We have worked in huge international collaborations, but also supported smaller outreach cooperation projects with pro-fessional artists and youngsters both from Europe and the differ-ent African regions. During our projects we are always looking for sustainable forms of collaboration and exchange.
