WER KANN MITMACHEN? Jede*r kann mitmachen und gerne auch Vorschläge für Songs einbringen, diese ggf. anleiten und so das „Standard“-Repertoire an Bluegrass und Oldtime Tunes erweitern. Anverwandte Genres wie Americana, Country-Blues und Folkmusic sind ebenfalls möglich. Oder ihr kommt einfach mal zum Zuhören vorbei. Die meisten Stücke lassen sich recht einfach begleiten. So bietet die Session für jedes musikalische Niveau einen guten Einstieg, vor allem, um die Musik und Stile aktiv kennenzulernen. Verbesserung der Technik aber auch Solo- und Improvisations-Spiel werden gefördert. WELCHE INSTRUMENTE? Akustische Saiteninstrumente wie Gitarre, Geige (Fiddle), Banjo, Mandoline, Standup-Bass, Dobro, Dulcimer und natürlich Gesang! Bratsche, Cello, Akkordeon und Mundharmonika sind ebenfalls willkommen.

Entry is free, and is open to any interested bluegrass instrumentalists, singers and listeners. WHEN and WHERE:

ALL PLAYERS AND SINGERS INVITED

Everyone is welcome to participate and make suggestions for songs, but also to lead them if necessary and expand the "standard" repertoire of bluegrass and old-time tunes. Related genres include Americana, country-blues and folk. Or you can just come along and listen. Most of the pieces are simple to accompany, using typical chord progressions. The session integrates multiple skill levels and is a great way to participate and learn the various music and styles. More advanced techniques such as solos, improvising and harmony singing are encouraged. WHAT INSTRUMENTS ARE PLAYED? Acoustic stringed instruments such as guitar, violin (fiddle), banjo, mandolin, standup bass, dobro, dulcimer and of course vocals! Viola, cello, accordion and harmonica are also welcome.

Universes colliding tonight in Düsseldorf!

One night only! Bluegrass at the Düsseldorf Opera House (Deutsche Oper am Rhein), Thursday 30 October, 19:30. The "Rendezvous um halb 8” concert series is a cross-genre musical collaboration that features a relaxed, crossover format with music and conversation. This event will feature our bluegrass friends from Cologne, "The Bashed Potatoes", who will perform some songs and introduce the genre to the opera community. Opera singing and art song meet the virtuoso genre of country music with guitar, banjo, mandolin, fiddle, double bass and voice. Don't miss this unique bluegrass fusion bash!

Wir freuen uns, neue Termine und Veranstaltungsorte für die Düsseldorf Bluegrass Bash bekannt zu geben! Jetzt gibt es zwei Termine im Monat: jeden zweiten Mittwoch im Monat im Talslösschen-Ratingen und jeden dritten Sonntag im Monat im Smoke BBQ. Hier sind die neuen Termine.
