long time no post. i had some kind of "painting-blockage" and i think i know why now. over time i developed the urge to paint as perfectly as possible. i wanted to find the optimal light source and do the shading as good as possible, because i wanted to paint a picture that people would find interesting. it was no longer just about expressing myself, but about others liking it. what a pressure. no wonder I didn't feel like painting anymore. but today i thought "f**k it. f**k the light source and everything else. i'll just paint myself trying to enjoy spring while feeling depressed most of the time." so .. well .. here it is :)

do you remember the movie "the crow"? ~ absolutely one of my favorite movies when I was young. i still love it today, mainly because of the wonderful atmosphere.

i've always envied eric draven a bit ~ for his courage, his freedom from fear, his obsession to achieve his goal in life (in this case maybe more a goal of death, haha). and of course his clothes and make-up were pretty cool too 😎

inspired by a great audio book i'm listening to ~ piranesi by susanna clark. i don’t think the english translation is completly correct, therefore the german version below.

„My hair, however, is a completely different case. Over the years, as they grew longer, I wove into them pretty items I found or crafted: shells, coral chips, beads, tiny pebbles, and interesting fish bones. Many of these small embellishments are bright, shiny, and have flashy colors. Everyone rattles when I walk or run. So last week I spent an afternoon trying to remove them. It wasn't easy and sometimes it hurt. I put the hair accessory into the beautiful box with the octopus on top that previously contained my shoes.“

Im Lauf der Jahre, als sie länger wurden, flocht ich hübsche Gegenstände hinein, die ich fand oder bastelte: Muscheln, Korallensplitter, Perlen, winzige Kieselsteine und interessante Gräten. Viele dieser kleinen Verzierungen sind hell, glänzend und haben auffällige Farben. Alle rasseln, wenn ich gehe oder renne. Daher verbrachte ich letzte Woche einen Nachmittag damit, sie zu entfernen. Es war nicht einfach und manchmal tat es weh. Ich legte den Haarschmuck in die wunderschöne Schachtel mit dem Kraken drauf, die vorher meine Schuhe enthielt.“
