How to fix...
M.A.S.K. High Tech Helocopter (The Loyal Subjects)

Before we get to the Elephant in the Room (MDU), I want to show you some nice tricks to get the HTH to work without taking this whole thing apart.

Like the Vintage One, the HTH is glued on the front and you are most likely breaking the toy in the process of opening it... plus the mechanic is like a Jack in the Box... ;)

On a side note... if TLS just did some Videos of how to operate the toys the sh*tstorm would have been a lot less sh*tty IMHO.

How to fix...
M.A.S.K. Thunderhawk (The Loyal Subjects)

Finally getting somwhere with the new releases. Thunderhawk is the poster boy for MASK so this should have been perfect from the get go. While I can't fix the rear bumper/Jet Thruster Problem (yet), there is a relatively easy fix for the hanging doors.

But be aware, it is some kind of trade off...

M.A.S.K. Condor (The Loyal Subjects)

Honestly… there isn’t much to fix. Condor is fine but I heard some complaints about the figure sitting to tight into the seat and the bending rotorblades.

So this is really just a heads up…

All the little problems, issues and nitpicks aside… boy they do look good on the shelf!!!
Especially the MDU limited is absolutely gorgeous!!!

Honest Review

Switchblade… this will forever be Switchblade, Mayhems Trademark Helicopter/Fighter Jet and the Flagship of Venoms many Vehicles. Will this reissue hold up against your childhood memories?

The Good:
-the Box… this always gives me Goosebumps… beautiful… who is the guy in the Cockpit anyway?
-absolutely stunning finish… this Thing just has the look. Wow!
-again, a completely new designed figure and MASK for all your needs
-lots of upgrade parts and shiny chrome

The Bad:
-honestly? Yeah, my rotor didn‘t lock in at first try but you kinda get it to work and hold properly
-my canopy closes really tight and I had to trim it down a little
-other than that it works just fine

The Round-Up:
-the first (and only) VENOM vehicle is a straight homerun. From the detailed figure, the extra modeled jet exhausts or the extra blast effect pieces and a complete rocket with smoke effect this is just stunning. Like the other releases this got it‘s flaws but it‘s not as bad as the internet wants you to believe.

Condor
Honest Review

Condor is the smallest new vehicle released. There isn‘t much going on with this one. The Transformation isn‘t spring loaded and therefore not much can go wrong… or can it?

The Good:
-beautiful nostalgic box
-simple but small
-display stand included (sort of)
-completely new designed figure

The Bad:
-nothing to report, this one is just fine
-the figure is hard to get seated (not an issue of the toy)
-Rotor Wings a little bend down after first transformation (understandable)

Closing Comments:
-Condor is without question the least problematic release (what an achievement) of the four new M.A.S.K. Vehicles done and released by The Loyal Subjects. Why they changed up the mechanism of the back wheel and why there is now a spring in the seat/rotor transformation is beyond me. If you want a toy for your kid Condor has the highest chances of surviving hard playtime.

Mobile Defense Unit (MDU)
Honest Review

Oh boy, I was really afraid of opening the MDU. The Internet really pulled this one to pieces so I got a bad feeling. The good news? Most of the Issues are easily fixed... but there are many of them...

The Good:
-Extraordinary piece, easily the most recognizable vehicle besides the Thunderhawk, lovely crafted in shiny plastic
-beautiful chrome parts
-huge playability, two figures, lots of accessoires
-again beautiful packaging with this special vintage feeling

The Bad:
-loose smokestacks (easy fix)
-Stickers too long (exactly one sticker)
-Front Grill doesn't line up 100% (this is a hard one to fix)
-Caboose Ramp doesn't close 100% (easy fix)
-ATV is loose and hanging when picked up (I would not call that an issue actually)
-Passenger Door loose (I would assume it's because of the ejector seat)
-The Calble Winch for the ATV is an absolute Joke and is not working
-the pegs on the side steps are to small to fit the figures (this is actually pretty hillarious, that was one feature they mentioned over and over)

The Verdict:
The MDU comes with a hefty price tag and it's somewhat inacceptable to ship this item out to customers with that many quality issues. Most of the problems are easy fixed without taking the whole thing appart, others are harder to repair and some are just plain defect and need a replacement part. But again with this one, it steals the show on every display.

If you are able to do some minor fixes which includes nail polish and a scalpel blade you will get a beatiful toy that lives up to it's legend. If you are not I would skip this one entirely and wait for a proper re-run if they ever do one.

Your choice.

Honest Review

To be fair, I expected the worst when I first got it. The Foreshadowing in Social Media was bad and so I opened it with mixed feelings.

Spoiler Alert: it‘s actually pretty good and somewhat superior to the Vintage Version.

The Good:
-Bright and colourful packaging mimicing the Vintage Design
-shiny/glossy plastic material, fresh chrome parts
-awesome action figure in completly new design, lot's of accessoires

The Bad:
-poor assembly on the chassis part on my copy (see picture)
-hanging wing doors, not enough load on the spring (easy fix)
-rear bumper does not cover the thrusters fully, exact same issue that the vintage one had

Bottom Line:
If you don‘t have the Original One and don‘t want to ruin your wallet by getting a boxed one this may be for you. The little nitpics are a minor downside to the overall impression, the new figures and Masks are great, the extra effect pieces and the Disc Launcher just adds some more value to it and makes it really pop in your display.

This sure isn‘t as bad as some people want it to be.

These giant Rats are called Skaven. They are roaming the tunnels under the Village and can pop up anywhere...even right behind you. Don' search for their nest or you are doomed.
