A project for a fiction film at the stage of script writing.

A German tourist, on holidays in Cuba, detained by the authorities when he is about to leave the country. His resemblance with a character from the government, who has been missing up to that moment, becomes the reason for an investigation. While he fights to prove his real identity, he begins to fall in love with Adela, an enigmatic woman who will complicate the circumstances surrounding the tourist.

Tabacos Robaina

Project on the conceptualization stage.

The life of Don Alejandro Robaina, renowned Cuban to***co grower, is discovered through the process of creation of 91 sculptures made in tribute to his personality. Each of these sculptures is a year in the life of the veguero, who passed away without seeing the first two of these pieces.

Designers and sculptors who carried out the task of reconfiguring the reproduction of these sculptures introduce us in their creation processes, while family members and people known by Robaina offer valuable testimonies on the life of the famous veguero, linked to the cultivation of Cuban to***co.

Marti Theatre

A project for a documentary film in its conceptual creation stage.

A symbol of the Cuban culture, Marti Theater, hosted during almost a century important national acting and music protagonists, as well as performances made by outstanding literary and artistic figures from the world, amid the colonial and republican contexts in Cuba.

After being closed to the public for 35 years, Marti Theater is being submitted to a very deep restoration work. A circumstance turning itself into a favorable energy to refurbishing the old building to the modern technologies that current staging demands.

The rescue of this installation, stage by excellence for Cuban Buffo Theater, with its typical characters such as the Black, the Mulatto woman and Galician, is the reason for the realization of a documentary film inspired by this symbol of Cuban and Ibero-American culture.

The weight of the island on my shoulders (La isla en peso)

A project for a documentary film in its financing stage.

Aire frio is the play from Cuban dramatist Virgilio Pinéra that inspires two theater groups, one in Havana and the other in Buenos Aires. While both directors are engaged in staging the play, adjusting details and studying the characters, a group of writers, artists, friends, scholars and critics with their testimonies offer their impressions on the industrious life of the most controversial Cuban narrator of the 20th century. Mixed with the play and stage elements, a background projection in each stage will lead us throughout entangle grounds such as Havana and Buenos Aires.

Detrás del muro (Behind the wall)

A documentary film recently finished and is ready for its distribution.

Its topic is structured around the 11th Art Biennale of Havana, in a group of artists, called by art curator Juan Delgado Calzadilla, organized the project Detrás del muro, turning the wall at the waterfront in Havana (malecón) into one of the largest exhibition halls seen in the isle of Cuba.

The film Detrás del muro constitutes, at the same time, a registry of the production of such exhibition, as well as the thoughts and ideas that led the artists to conform that purpose.

Arsenio's legend

A project for a documentary film and concert at its final stage of post production

In order to pay homage to Cuban musician Arsenio Rodriguez, Tony Pinelli a Cuban critic, composer and music producer, calls well-known singers and music groups from the island for a musical recording.

Hand in Hand with the musical production for the most famous songs of Arsenio, spiced up with contemporary arrangements from different orchestras or the very particular interpretation made by those invited for the recording, we disentangle passages from the life of this significant musician in his creative sceneries, that were Cuba and the United States, as they are told by his daughter Regla Travieso.

The Afro-Latin rhythms and the unforgettable musical movements, which artistically joined and amalgamated the Caribbean and the United States since the middle of the 20th century, gain life in this project.

Daniel's Saga

A project for a fiction film at the initial financing stage.

Daniel, a youngster coming from a family of farmers, discovers his true vocation after a surprising selection of talents to study dance that took place in his small hometown at Zapata Marshes. After sorting out many obstacles he is able to build up a professional career. His success will be marked by the longing reencounter with his first love.

Daniel’s Saga will be a movie to appraise the dancing flair of Cuban dancers, the singing and music from Cuba.
