As we celebrate this joyful Christmas season, we are reminded of the wonderful news the angels shared with the shepherds:

“Do not be afraid. I bring you good news that will cause great joy for all the people. Today in the town of David a Saviour has been born to you; he is the Messiah, the Lord.” (Luke 2:10–11)

This is the heart of Christmas — the gift of Jesus, bringing hope, joy, and peace to the world.

We want to say a heartfelt thank you for your faithful and wonderful support of the Heraldic Institute and the Deutsches Erbe Wappenrolle throughout 2025. Your generosity and prayers mean so much, and we are deeply grateful to walk this journey with you.

Most of all, we wish you and your loved ones a very happy and blessed Christmas, filled with joy, peace, and the love of Christ.

With warm Christmas wishes,

The Heraldic Institute and the Deutsches Erbe Wappenrolle teams

The Deutsches Erbe Wappenrolle is an 'unterverein' (sub-association) of the Heraldic Institute which promotes the understanding of different heraldic traditions. The Institute is a Registered Association in Germany with charitable tax exempt status.

Esteemed heraldists can become Fellows of the Institute. This emblazon by Wilhem Horwood displays the shield of Björn Friden ( Björn Fridén - Heraldic Arms Dealer ), with the insignia of a Fellow (FHI). Björn is a Director and Fellow of the Institute.

Although both the Heraldic Institute and the Deutsches Erbe Wappenrolle are based in Germany, the portrayal of the Fellow's shields with the insignia but without the helm and crest does not conform to German heraldic rules. This departure from them was a conscious attempt to demonstrate that the Institute is not exclusively focussed on German heraldry.

The Deutsches Erbe Wappenrolle registered and emblazoned this coat of arms on 14th December 2024 under number 2463.

Per pale dimidiated; Dexter, Argent a double headed eagle displayed Gules; Sinister, Azure a bend sinister wavy Or. On a helm with mantling and wreath Gules and Argent, a sickle Argent with handle Gules.

It is unusual to see dimidiated arms especially with a bend sinister wavy that seems to be cut off halfway in its middle. These arms have historically been used by this family.
