Tonight “The Black Monk” by in coproduction with Hamburg celebrates it‘s 🇫🇷 France premiere on the main stage at the Palais des Papes in Avignon. The performance is opening the 76th international Festival d’Avignon - one of the main events of Europeans Theatre- and Danceworld.
I am super glad to be part of such a lovely team, sharing the stage with extraordinary contemporary artists and wishing everyone involved a big Toi Toi Toi!

- untold paradox -
“During my travels, I love to photograph all kinds of graffiti, including my visit to Bethlehem and the West Bank. Standing in front of a concrete wall in an area of political tension triggered a paradoxical feeling in me that gave rise to the image of a gap between hope and captivity.“
In “untold paradox”, Tillmann Becker asks questions about the meaning and value of freedom. He questions the behavior in seemingly unsolveable border conflicts and searches for a weaponless world in his dance movement research. The duet shows a soldier who remains anonymous by his gas mask. The girl wants to take off her gas mask, but does the girl manage to pe*****te his anonymity?

I am thrilled to introduce you Miriam Kaya . Tonight we premiere „untold paradox“!
Miriam Kaya was born in Hamburg.
At a young age, she began to practice artistic gymnastics and took part in national and international competitions.
Besides that, she discovered dance for herself and then began a pre-education in contemporary dance at the Gymnasium Essen-Werden in cooperation with the Aalto Ballett Essen.
Miriam went on to study at the Zurich University of the Arts (ZHdK) in Switzerland. During her studies she was seen in choreographies by Itzik Galili, Barak Marshall, Ihsan Rustem and others.
For Season 2018/19 Miriam joined dance company Norrdans in Sweden as an intern and worked in choreographies by Fabio Liberti, Martin Forsberg and Viktor Konvalinka.
She has also worked as a freelancer with Kenan Dinkelmann, Fabian Cohn and Tillmann Becker in Germany, Bulgaria, and the Netherlands.
Most recently she was engaged as a guest dancer for several productions at the Staatstheater Braunschweig under the dance direction of Gregor Zöllig. Here she worked with choreographers such as Sara Angius, Annamari Keskinen, Ryan Mason, and Teresa Rotemberg.
Since Season 2021/22 Miriam has been a member of the Tanzcompagnie of the .

or the "inability to love"
Two poles - and in between electrified air. Attraction and rejection, happiness and despair, butterfly feelings and violence. A couple in love - a couple in hate? A relationship doomed from the start? It's about power and dependence and the question of who controls whom.
In his choreography, Tillmann Becker examines the feeling of being touched. Can the fire of passion and intense attraction be felt, even if the dancers stay at a distance almost all the time? But love turns into despair. And desire into humiliation. Above everything hovers the question: who am I with you? Or does the I only exist through a we? What if the interdependence opens up the possibility of finding yourself and at the same time becoming “me”?

„baby on fire“
I am thrilled to introduce you Yuya Fujinami!
fujinami began his professional dance and gymnastics education in Saitama, Japan and completed his studies at the Hamburg Ballet School of John Neumeier. After his graduation he was engaged with Theater Chemnitz, Tiroler Landestheater Innsbruck and Staatstheater Tanz Braunschweig. He had the opportunity to work among others with international choreographers such as Jan Pusch, Roy Assaf, Katrin Hall, Annabelle Bonney, Jochen Heckmann, Yuki Mori and Stephan Thoss. Since 2015, Yuya is an outstanding freelance dance artist based in Berlin and collaborated with various independent choreographers. He also worked and toured internationally with companies such as CONSTANZA MACRAS | DORKYPARK in “Megalopolis”, “Chatsworth” and ”Der Palast” as well as Sasha Waltz & Guests in “NoBody“, “Rauschen“, “Dialoge 2020 - Relevante Systeme“ and “Tannhäuser“.
Periodically, Yuya is also realizing his own choreographies. For his first collaboration with Emmanouela Dolianiti, they received the audience award “Best Duo 2017”, for their production “memini” at the ‘9th International SoloDuo Festival’ in Cologne. In 2019 they created “ETHE REAL” in coproduction with CONSTANZA MACRAS | DORKYPARK and EX-teater. The piece was presented at theater “Verlin” and at the “Performing Arts Festival Berlin”.
Yuya appeared in my work “Narziss and Echo” at Staatstheater Braunschweig” and is dancing and collaborating in my latest production “baby on fire”in 2020.

Zwei Pole – und dazwischen elektrisierte Luft. Anziehung und Ablehnung, Glück und Verzweiflung, Schmetterlingsgefühle und Gewalt. Ein Liebespaar – ein Hasspaar? Eine Beziehung von Anfang an zum Scheitern verurteilt? Es geht um Macht und Abhängigkeit und um die Frage, wer beherrscht wen.
Tillmann Becker untersucht in seiner Choreografie das Gefühl des Berührt-Werdens. Wird das Feuer der Leidenschaft und der intensiven Anziehung spürbar, auch wenn Tänzerin und Tänzer fast die ganze Zeit auf Abstand bleiben? Doch Liebe wird zur Verzweiflung. Und Verlangen zu Demütigung. Über allem schwebt die Frage: Wer bin ich mit dir? Oder gibt es das Ich nur durch ein Wir? Was ist, wenn die gegenseitige Abhängigkeit die Möglichkeit eröffnet, sich selbst zu finden und gleichzeitig „Ich“ zu werden?

I am thrilled to introduce you Alice Gaspari!
Alice Gaspari was born in Italy and started her dance education in her hometown Rimini. She completed her bachelor degree and postgraduate diploma at the Northern School of Contemporary Dance in Leeds in England. From 2009 till 2010 she joined the Phoenix Dance Theater as apprentice. Here she was seen in works of Sharon Watson, Douglas Thorp, Warren Adams, Isira Makuloluwe, Alexandra Seutin, Aletta Colins. As a freelance dancer in Great Britain she collaborated with Joss Arnott Dance Company, IJAD Dance Company and Arcadie Rusu Company. It was her wish to join a contemporary dance company in Germany. For six years she was engaged with Staatstheater Braunschweig first under the direction of Jan Pusch and later on under the direction of Gregor Zöllig. Among others Alice got the chance to work with international choreographers such as Roy Assaf, Guilherme Bothelo, Guy Nader and Maria Campos, Henrietta Horn, Reinhild Hoffmann, Xenia Wiest, James Rosental, Bessim Hoti and Ihsan Rustem.
Since 2019 Alice is active as a Berlin based freelance dancer and she is a memeber of the "dancersconnect - free scene department" to support the freelance scene in building up their common structure of representation.
In 2020 Alice is dancing and collaborating in my latest choreography "baby on fire".

The German freelance Choreographer, Bachelor of Dance and Dancemaker Tillmann Buala Becker was born in Indonesia. His carrier as a dancer started at the Coburg City Ballet in Germany, which he also supervised as a physiotherapist.
Later on he went to the Netherlands to enrich his dance and choreographic vocabulary, where he already performed, among others, repertoire of Marco Goecke, Jeori Dubbe and Angelin Preljocaj at the ArtEZ University of the Arts in Arnhem. Still in his studies, he won the 2. Prize at the International Choreographic Competition in Ludwigshafen „No Ballet“ with his duet "The one we act, the other we are”, choreographed onto Milan Kampfer and himself and was nominated for the "ITs Krisztina de Châtel Award" in Amsterdam/ The Netherlands.
Tillmann joined Staatstheater Braunschweig after he got the permission to audition for full-contract-work-relationship already during his last year of university. In Braunschweig he was seen, among others, in works by Henrietta Horn, Kathrin Hall, Jan Pusch, Gregor Zöllig and Roy Assaf. Further engagements as dancer brought him to Landestheater Flensburg, Theater Bielefeld and Unterwegstheater Heidelberg. Beside free projects in Europe and China Tillmann was invited to perform with choreographers such as Hans Henning Paar and Helena Waldmann.
Tillmann’s works have been presented at festivals, young choreographers evenings and twice at the Competition for Choreographers in Hannover. For his latest work “Babylon” he received a scholarship through the Arbeitsgemeinschaft TANZAllianz, Cooperation of UnterwegsTheater Heildelberg und Theater- und Orchester Heidelberg.
His therapeutic knowledge and cultural heritage are inherent components of inspiration in his work.
