Rumpsti Pumsti (Musik)

The Rumpsti Pumsti (Musik) store will close for good in early February 2021. After 25 years of living & working in Berlin it is time for me to move on.

I will move to Copenhagen, bringing most of the artist-records & editions there to build a new stripped-down mailorder catalogue over time, narrowing the focus even further. Time will tell if there is going to be a physical & public space again in Copenhagen, but i'm hopeful something interesting will happen one way or another.

After some restructuring and modification, maybe in March or April, a new record store run by Brett Wagg of Total Black will open it's doors at the same spot. Also Mark Harwood of Penultimate Press will take a part in this new operation for the foreseeable future, having his releases and mailorder items available on the shelves.

A larger portion of my stock will remain in Berlin with Brett, who will also fulfill orders placed through my webshop, wherever possible. Most likely things will be a bit messy & slow for some time (due to me) but will improve after this transition period.

The wholesale of my label's back-catalogue continues to be handled from Berlin for the time being, so releases from Tochnit Aleph, Total Black, and Penultimate Press can be ordered from one location.

Most of the books in my catalogue are on their way to Kirkegaards Antikvariat in Copenhagen.

You can still place orders through the webshop until end of next week i think, and have items shipped or you pick them up at the store. Sometime in early February the mailorder will close for a period.

Please get in touch by email in case we need to close a case.
I am not going to disappear, and, if possible, i will be back in Berlin for a couple of times throughout the year.

This weekend at the Musica Sanae festival Rumpsti Pumsti (Musik) presents a sound-installation of a new work by Marcellvs L. and two video-installations curated / constructed by Denial Löwenbrück and Diana Ø. Tørsløv Møller.

The festival takes place in the quite special Museum Kesselhaus which is located in the landmarked Königin Elisabeth Herzberge hospital in Berlin Lichtenberg.
