For the initiative 'It's time to care' you can buy art editions to support refugees at the Greek-Turkish border. Visit Entkunstung's online shop to purchase the editions, e.g. by Refugee Week Berlin's Monika Gabriela Dorniak. ALL profits from the sales will be donated to the NGO Caritas Austria.

Starting today and for the next two weeks, we decided to donate 100% of online sales to the NGO Caritas - Austria for the assistance of refugees on the Greek-Turkish border.

Neoliberalism and our governments managed to exert all the pressure and responsibility on us, the individuals, especially when it comes to changing or correcting the system (and we are not going to make it happen overnight). However, some micro-political gestures of caring and solidarity could save lives. This action is a small gesture, an act almost of civil disobedience in times where, our leaders and corporations, again, act for the interest of a few and not for those of the community.

If you want to join our initiative with an artwork for an affordable price (photographs, prints, paintings, poems, vinyl records, a dinner or a performance, etc.), we can upload it to our online shop, or create a list of supporting artists including the work you are offering. You can also make a donation to your favourite NGO!

Thanks,
Felipe & Max

PS. We will keep the -20% discount (which is also optional) and free shipping in the EU. Coupon: STAYATHOME20

Entkunstung invited artists to donate works to their online shop for their initiative: until Wednesday 100% of sales are being donated to NGO Caritas Austria to assist the 22.000 refugees who are currently waiting in the Moria camps at the Greek-Turkish border.
Refugee Week Berlin's Monika Dorniak has donated 3x3 of her editions, and you can find many other beautiful works for affordable prices. Shipping is free in EU and you can use the voucher STAYHOME20 to get a 20% discount.

The people from Syria, Cameroon, Afghanistan, Iraq and other countries are in precarious conditions, and with the first cases of Covid-19 being confirmed, they are worsening. NGO's such as Caritas Austria lack the medical equipment, and your donations can help them.

curated by Monika Dorniak, june 2018
Within Refugee Week Berlin. With:
Elisa Dierson, Monika Dorniak, Domenique Himmelsbach de Vries, Lingji Hon,
Katja Marie Voigt, Valentyn Odnoviun, Felix Stumpf, Çaglar Tahiroglu, Matteo Valerio, Raul Walch

‘The Vivid Unknown’ is part of Philip Glass’s music for the film Naqoyqatsi, which means ‘life as war’ in the Hopi language. The exhibition reflects on the world in our Anthropocene era, in which the global market has become the major economic and cultural force on the planet; control of artificial systems encounters the organic world, itself undergoing extreme transformations, leading to social disharmony, and new movements. We have transitioned to hyper-mobile interactions and interweaving in digital space, while the physical settlements of marginalised groups are constantly disturbed. Past, present and prospective natural disasters caused by climate change and war force people to leave home and make precarious escapes into the unknown.

The works use our artistic potential, and establish togetherness in times of dispersion and separation through interaction, creation, involvement and research. #thevividunknown #refugeeweekberlin #monikadorniak #rosaluxdotcom #projektraum #berlin #artistrunspace #projectspace #talks #workshops #performances #artshow #londonberlin @ rosalux

Art Matters

You have one more week to apply to attend the next exciting workshop by ART MATTERS in Berlin! More Information: 'This year our practice-based workshop series is designed under the slogan „Reclaim the Discourse“ focusing on the mediation of contemporary arts, when it comes to migration-related issues: How can practices and techniques from other disciplines in the public sphere such as media, journalism, or pop culture contribute to reaching larger audiences? Which media channels and what languages do we use, which terminologies and translation acts need to be (re-)defined to create greater impact? Which ways of public manifestation, campaigning and image building can we contrive more effectively to deliver political messages by the means of arts and culture? What can we learn from strategies in media and pop culture? Which forms of self-empowerment and advocacy can we bring up together to raise a louder public voice?' Link: https://chrrahn.typeform.com/to/KoNcCp

Reclaim the discourse!

We are launching the open call for the 2nd edition of ART MATTERS.
This time we will look into arts mediation and activist media strategies to speak with a louder voice.
We are very excited to announce our inspiring contributors:
Tunay Önder (Munich), Verda Kaya (Berlin), Rokhaya Diallo (Paris), Tito Valery (Yaoundé) and Chadi Bahouth (Berlin).

Only three days left to see the exhibition! Today artist Çağlar Tahiroğlu will hold a workshop in the exhibition space. You can come at any time between 3-6pm. More Information: The workshop is inspired by art-therapy and the idea to create works without aesthetic concerns. Participants need no prior experience in painting or drawing. Everyone is invited to imagine their homeland; this can be their origin, or a place where they feel a sense of belonging. The creation process is a mental journey where the artist reflects together with the participants. As a result the final works will be hung in the exhibition space for the afternoon. Simple drawing and painting materials are going to be available in the workshop. The workshop is held in english language.

16/06/2018

The sculptures by #ElisaDierson, #KatjaMarieVoigt, #FelixStumpf, exhibited at #TheVividUnknown, were constructed for a workshop in the art space Tiny Penthaus, in former Hotel BelAhr, Potsdamer Platz. The children living in the hotel created the floating capsules, imagining the art space is a galaxy where one can research, collect and construct.
Since 2016 the trio organised the project Cave Community, inspired by Gilles Deleuze and Felix Guattari '1837 – Zum Ritornell'. Together with the children the artists construct caves with fabrics, cardboard, and furniture. The construction of caves functions as an archaic form of expression, where spontaneous architectural constructions help the group to find stability. For #RefugeeWeekBerlin the artists will facilitate another workshop, and invite people to visit their cave community.

Workshop for children (between 5 -10 years) on 23.6. and 24.6. / 12:00 - 18:00. Registration open until 20.6. via mail(*)kunstwerkstadt-berlin.de

It's open to the public on the 24.6., between 14 - 17 Uhr

Please bring a ID card and register on the security desk in the foyer.

Venue: ZUsammenKUNFT Kunst -und Kulturinitiativen on 15. and 16. floor, Stresemannstraße 95-97, 10963 Berlin (former Hotel BelAhr)

ART MATTERS

We are excited to team up with the people behind #ArtMatters for #RefugeeWeekBerlin. On the 19th of June, we host their community meeting between 4-6pm in the exhibition at project room rosalux in Wedding. Everyone is welcome to join and hear more about their platform / become part of it. Afterwards, between 6-7pm you can experience the performance Dream Of Intangible Cultures, a collaboration between Matteo Valerio, performer Lingji Hon and artist Monika Dorniak.

More Information:
ART MATTERS is a transnational platform for critical exchange about contemporary arts practices in post-migrant societies that we set up with a first practice-based workshop series including a public panel in December 2017 in Berlin, Germany.
Motivated by the fact that artistic productions, projects and programmes addressing migration-related issues have experienced increased attention for several years now, we initiated this forum to bring together professionals active at the intersection of arts, activism and migration in Europe and the MENA region in order to share experiences out of transcultural perspectives.
With our kick-off session, we started to build up our community including artists, curators, mediators, researchers, activists, facilitators and policy-makers with manifold backgrounds. In collaboration with experts in the field, also including Áine O’Brien from Counterpoints Arts, we reflected on current forms of engagement, working methods and visions corresponding to apparent needs in self-organised, community-based and activist ways, while tackling sociopolitical challenges and theoretical concepts. Some feedback you find here: https://vimeo.com/266579084
Currently, we’re working on the design of the second workshop edition, in-between we host regular meetings.
