Mateo is a young self-taught artists, based in Lima. The artistic process is for Cabrera an exploration of the inner self, performed not in solitude and isolation but in cohesion with the nature. His dreamlike paintings, mysterious and poetic at the same time, are populated by the presence of animals or ancient remains, and dominated by an intense colour palette.

Last winter we visited Ignacio in his studio in Berlin Schöneweide and got a change to discover more about his very detailed and accurate artistic process: he uses a graphic and realistic visual language, based largely on drawing, to transmit complex ideas about socio-political transformation. Both his paintings and colourful plastic works create a deliberate sense of estrangement and confusion of the observer.
