Crossover Projekt - Tanz

The Berlin premiere of "stationen" was great last night. And what a supportive audience!!! Due to the close proximity between audience and dancers in this theater, seeing the work here is a totally new experience...... I love it.

Today's spotlight is on Crossover Projekt dancer Tove Klang:

Tove was born in 1990 in Sweden. At the age of 12 she started to dance at the local dance school, but it was not until she started the gymnasium that her dance interest grew more serious. For three years she studied at a musical school, at the same time she also trained and performed with a contemporary dance company in her hometown Karlstad.

After graduation she continued for two years full time dance preparation education at Löftadalens people high school. And in 2011 Tove started her three year professional dance education at Iwanson international school of contemporary dance in Munich, Germany. Since the graduation from Iwanson she has been freelancing as a dancer, teacher and choreographer. She has worked with different groups and projects around Sweden.

Tove is one of the most intuitive dancers I have worked with. There is a richness to her movement, that even the most simple gesture becomes meaningful. She tackles assignments with openness and purpose and never disappoints. Don’t miss Tove...... we only have three shows left!

Don't miss our Berlin Premiere tonight at theaterforum kreuzberg!!!!!

Today's spotlight is on Crossover Projekt dancer Millie Daniel-Dempsey:

Originally from Ireland, Millie has recently graduated from the Scottish School of Contemporary Dance with a BA (Hons) Degree in Contemporary Dance Performance.

Millie also has a strong interest in choreography and has made work throughout her training that has been performed in Scotland, England and Ireland. Some of these performances included the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, the Irish Youth Dance Festival and the Fresh North East Platform. Since graduating Millie performed at the’ DIG’ festival in Scotland and at ‘Watt en Schlick’ festival in Germany before moving to Budapest to take part in an ‘Elite training programme’ with Budapest Dance Theatre.

Millie came into the project late and stunned me from her first day on…… and continues to do so. She is a great mover and works from deep within. She is really grounded, super sweet and pops out movement in no time. Wow! Don’t miss Millie on stage this week! She is a treat to watch!!!!!

Wonderful shows with the Crossover Projekt so far!!! I am pleased beyond my wildest expectations!

This morning's spotlight is on guest choreographer Giuseppe Casiero:

Giuseppe began studying classical ballet and modern dance at the age of 4 in Puglia, Italy. In 2008 he received a scholarship for three years Professional Training in Classical Ballet at "Scuola del Balletto di Toscana" of Florence, under the artistic direction of Cristina Bozzolini.

In 2009 he made his professional debut performing with the Company "Junior Balletto di Toscana”.
In 2012 he worked for several productions with the "Florence Dance Company" in Italy Artistic Director Keith Ferrone. He has been working in the season 2013/2014 with the Ballet Company of "Nordharzer Städtebund Theater" in Germany, under the Artistic Director Jaroslaw Jurasz.
In the same season, he debut as a choreographer making for the Company "SÄRMÄ", contemporary ballet”.

Giuseppe found the Crossover Projekt by attending last year’s performance in Berlin. He approached me within a couple of days, asking if I would consider inviting him as guest choreographer. How glad I am that he asked and that he joined us this year. He created a beautiful piece “Finibus Terrae”, featuring Stephan Quinci in some very nice solo work, Stephan and Cindy Fökel in a beautiful duet, and Samanta Hinz, Ece Cinar and Millie Daniel Dempsey in a lovely trio. Other dancers in his piece are Wiebke Kampferbeck and Luise Nikschick, performing tonight in our last performance at Hamburger Sprechwerk.

Don’t miss them and this lovely piece!

Stephan, Ece, Wiebke, Samanta, Marleen, Cindy and Tove: You rock! Thank you!
