An easy way to open oysters at home ✨
You can order oysters with an oyster knife if you need one (4 €, to keep or to return)
🍋Place the oyster on a towel and stabilise it with your hand and the towel so you don’t harm yourself 😅
🍋Put the knife at the point of the oyster and dig in it with a rotative and relaxed movement
🍋as soon as the knife is in the oyster, rotate the knife until the shell pops
🍋Move with the knife towards the side where the muscle of the oyster is and cut it to separate the shell from the muscle.
🍋get rid of the first water and rests of shell. The oyster produces a new water after 10 min which is delicious
🍋 Eat it

When we first saw this place, we immediately felt in love with the unusual ceiling height and the old tiled floor. It used to be a butchery a long time ago and then several artists began to use it as a gallery. We love the contrast between old materials and minimalistic furniture.

First of all thank you to all who came last weekend despite the cold, we sold out on almost everything, it was epic! 🔥
As winter is knocking on our doors we are preparing ourselves to give you the best experience.
As you might noticed, we reorganised our space inside to make it safe but still exciting and intimate. As the seats are very limited, we recommend to book a table in advance. Please note that we will do 2 sittings on Fridays : 6-8pm and 8-10pm.
Walk-ins are still welcome and we will make our best to make your wait more fun (wine might be involved...)

Hi! I wanted to say thank you for the love and support we had this past 2 months since our reopening and also to say a few words about my culinary journey at Rekorder Galerie und Café!
We started this project beginning of 2019 and we wanted to create a unique place for art and quality food. A place with a positive atmosphere where people come to share ideas, good conversations and enjoy great food.
I grew up in Paris and I always have been in love with brasseries and French markets where I would find the best products in a very raw and authentic way. I also have been very much influenced by my French grand mother and great grand mother who would always have these great products on the table like raw milk butter, fresh bread and cheese from the fromagerie. They acted in the sense that you don't need much but what you have should be the best. This mindset is the origin and essence of what I wanted to share with you!
Simplicity is the key with a focus on quality : the fresh toasted brioche bun enhances the intensity of the wild shrimps, the 12 months cured Bayonne ham is cut in slices “à la minute” like on the market and our homemade aioli follows a traditional recipe from Nice.
The last addition to the menu is the “Moules Marnières” which has a special spot in my heart and always makes me think of my family. This dish is made of mussels de Bouchot cooked in a white wine and butter sauce. We serve it with chips and it tastes great paired with a beer or a glass of white wine. Hope you will like it as much as I do! See you this weekend!

OEL is a Berlin company that has been dedicated to the seasonal production of organic, pure, native organic Koroneiki olive oil for five years. The entire production of their organic OEL takes place on their own land in Meligalas, Kalamata, Messenia, Greece.
