The teachers start with you on March 1st to prepare you for the first theatre course using Quantum Pedagogy - 23 April - 14 May 2019. Take the chance to be there!

There are still three weeks left to make up you mind and sign up application for one of the most interesting theatre workshops in contemporary theatre education field.

"...The studies include 2 intensive working stages: first stage is performed from 1st of March to 22nd of April online, and second stage is performed in-class in Sestola from 23d of April to 14th of May. Online practice will consist of individual lessons and tasks between student and teacher, tailored to bring up the subject of theatre as a whole and to concentrate on individual artistic profile of every student. Afterwards, in-class practice in Sestola will involve individual lessons, tasks and supervision, common training and lectures, practical exercises on analysis, directing and acting, as well as independent research and rehearsals. Both online and in-class practice at all stages is lead by Jurij Alschitz and performed by himself and his international team of teachers."

Creator and artistic director of the "ALthatheatre program", founder of theatre research institute AKT-ZENT, leader of many international workshops, research programs, festivals and courses of studies. Dr. Jurij Alschitz educated thousands of students working around the world. He is widely known as a theatre researcher and as the author of many books on theatre pedagogy.

“The innovativeness of the ALthattheatre pedagogical programme lies in the fact that it is not professionals that are created, but rather ideas. Actors become engaged in the development of knowledge, which is constantly moving, evolving, interacting with other ideas, adding, multiplying, changing and even destroying. This is the essence of one of the principles of the quantum technique of mobile knowledge. This game of knowledge does not rely on time. FAQ about ALthattheatre

1. What is ALthattheatre? An education, a workshop, a post-education?

It is all of this. It is what we call in German “Bildung”. ALthattheatre proposes in a limited timeframe to wake up your mind to become an independently thinking artist. Most important, you will not get knowledge, you will create knowledge.

2. Who can apply?

Everyone in any moment of their career. Before you start studying in order to prepare - after school to get ready to find your position in the huge ocean called theatre - in the midst of your career, when questions are piling up about your profession - as experienced artist who realizes, that this will be the end, if you do not risk to start all over....

3. How it is possible to work with such a heterogeneous group?

The work-process is very individual with the aim to make you as strong as possible. But the more different experiences and visions of theatre will meet the better for all, students and teachers.

4. What will be the subjects?

ALthattheatre does not concentrate on one subject or method of theatre practice, but explores the theme of The Whole Theatre. Such a holistic approach goes far beyond the limitation of any educational format you have met before. We will touch all subjects and it is you to make new connections.

5. What is Quantum Pedagogy?

ALthattheatre is based on a holistic worldview and investigates the principle of resonance for the theatre education. This unique pedagogical approach, developed by Dr. Jurij Alschitz follows the quantum laws. The whole process consists of multiple impulses given by a team of five teachers to touch you as a resonating system.

6. How about the working schedule?

ALthattheatre in its first edition invites students for 20 days of intensive practical work in the Italian mountain village, away from everyday business with a very specific daily schedule, which will consist of common trainings, individual lessons, tasks and supervision, collective lectures, your practical experience applying the new impulses, as well as independent research and rehearsals. Pause and silence will be as important as the spoken word.

But most important is your preparation before!
Before you arrive you will start with individual preparation - as online dialogue with one teacher. It will consist of individual lessons and tasks between you and the teacher, tailored to bring up the subject of theatre as a whole and to sharpen your individual artistic profile.

7. The course starts already much earlier?

Yes, your preparation starts from 1st of March giving you seven weeks where you will be asked to explore your own vision about theatre. The stronger your preparation the stronger your resonating artistic body, the more you will be able to accept to digest and to transform it into your own stage practice and you will create your unique knowledge about theatre.

8. What is your aim as teachers of ALthattheatre?

As international team of teachers we like to find a completely new pedagogical way. Instead of teaching one or the other acting technique we want students first and foremost to explore, find and articulate their own image of Theatre through the resonance with The Whole Theatre.
We plan to change the image of our profession as well: from the teacher to the facilitator. Together with students we plan to create knowledge everyday anew.
