The World Theatre Training Institute AKT-ZENT
In 1995, Dr Jurij Alschitz founded AKT-ZENT International Theatre Centre in Berlin together with programme director Christine Schmalor and other engaged artists to establish a framework for continuous learning, experiment, and research.
Today, the World Theatre Training Institute AKT-ZENT (WTTI) is the appointed research centre of the International Theatre Institute, the World Organisation for the Perfoming Arts.
The WTTI works exclusively towards the innovation of theory and practice of theatre training. All seminars, masterclasses and lectures in any country are considered as part of the permanent World Theatre Training Laboratory.
With a range of innovative projects, the WTTI enters a new era of educational practice . The scientific focus lies in the development of the artist’s “self-education” and “self-creation”. The programme ALthattheatre introduces Quantum Pedagogy.
The institute’s online platform https://hybrid-theatre-training.org/ offers new forms of theatre training and education.
The publishing department with its bookshop invites to explore new exercises and methods with Jurij Alschitz’ theatre handbooks for actors, directors, drama teachers and theatre pedagogues.
