Last Saturday was our final event for the year, and we felt the Christmas vibes via paranging, soca parang music, good food and pastelle making. Trinis really sweet YES! Thank you to everyone who came and participated in the pastelle making. We had a time with all the laughter, and good “ole talk”. We also met some new people, so we’re happy that our community is growing! Looking forward to seeing everyone in the new year at future events.

On the 5th day - 5 roti
4th day- 4 homemade bread
3rd day - 3 turkey leg
2nd day - 2 ponch a creme
1st day- a boil ham in a pitch oil pan!

And don’t forget …We’ll provide the ingredients for the pastelles you take home in exchange for a small contribution. See ya there!

Oye is Christmas again! 🎄💃🏿 And in just under 2 weeks you can parang 🎶🪕this Christmas lime. 🗣 Mark yuh calendar 🗓 because December 3rd at 4:00pm we going “whey Leroy mudda gone”. Don’t forget, save the date!!! And just in case you didn’t know, is bread and ham together with some pastelle, ginger beer, ponche de creme and sorrel... if yuh know, yuh know 😉 Please come early, so you can learn how to make pastelles. Nothing beats a Trini Christmas, and we having one this year in Berlin. In just under a month, on December 3rd you can be enjoying one. Join us from 4pm for Pastelle making and carry home your own homemade batch of pastelles. Bring your favourite Christmas dish and let's share while we lime and have a Trini Christmas Dinner. There will be Ponche de Creme, Sorrell, Rum punch, Ginger beer and of course good parang music! We going down south to SV Berlin Chemie Adlershof, Dörpfeldstr, 89, 12489, Berlin. So bring yuh bottle and spoon, bring yuh family and bring de good Trini vibes! Don’t forget to say what you are bringing in the comments to contribute to our pot luck dinner!

Diwali is the Festival of Lights that symbolizes the lifting of spiritual darkness and will be observed in Trinidad and Tobago on Oct 24th 2022.
Diwali marks the return of Lord Rama, who was the 7th incarnation of Vishnu, from a 14-year exile.
The Festival of Lights takes place on the darkest night (the first night of the new moon) in the month of Kartik in the Hindu calendar.
At dusk, families and friends join together in the tradition of exchanging gifts and sweets and lighting diyas around the home, in yards, open spaces, staircases and on bamboo stalks bent into innovative shapes and fantastic designs. The hub of all Diwali celebrations is held in central Trinidad which is home to the Divali Nagar.

It’s a long weekend in Germany, and I bet you are all enjoying it BUT do you know the significance of the holiday?

October 3rd is the Day of German Unity. It commemorates the German reunification, when the former German Democratic Republic officially joined the Federal Republic of Germany.

A little history…
The fall of the Berlin Wall on the 9th of November in 1989, marked the end of the Cold War and paved the way for German reunification barely a year later. The Unification Treaty that was signed on the 20th of September in 1990 and since then the 3rd of October has been declared a national holiday. A day for celebrating the end of the division of Germany.

So whether you are out with the family exploring Berlin, enjoying a beer at Octoberfest in Munich or strolling along the harbour in Hamburg, we hope you enjoy and remember the day that unified Germany into one nation 👏🏼🇩🇪
