"A Smoky Hallucination of Sex, Art & Beauty"
Berlin’s premier Weimar Republic inspired theatre show. "Mysterious and Risqué" - DEUTSCHE WELLE
(39)
Englisch: Le Pustra’s Kabarett der Namenlosen is Berlin’s ONLY and most provocative show, re-imagining the infamous 1920's in Berlin. This contemporary interpretation presents the zeitgeist of the period in très chic cinematic visuals and poetic performances. Kabarett is an immersive and interactive theatre production exploring the sexual and artistic freedom but also the dark undertones of the celebrated Weimar Republic Cabaret Culture during the interwar years. Set in an infamous and mysterious ‘Kabarett’, the story unfolds with a séance invoking the darkling of decadence, the iridescent Muse and bon vivant Le Pustra and the colorful habituées of this surreal ‘Nachtlokal’. Witness the Nameless return in extravagant flashbacks from another time for your voyeuristic pleasure: "A Smokey Hallucination of Sex, Art and Beauty". So leave your inhibitions at the door and enter a forbidden world of scandal, intrigue, self indulgence. Celebrate the Grotesque, the Bizarre and dance the night away with The Beautiful and The Damned. Kabarett includes selected music from Frederick Hollander, Kurt Weill, Rudolph Nelson, Mischa Spoliansky, Willy Rosen, Noël Coward, Bertolt Brecht feature and also poetry by Kurt Tucholsky.

#kabarettdernamenlosen

Le Pustra’s Kabarett der Namenlosen is an immersive theatrical production and contemporary interpretation of the scandalous 1920’s in Berlin. The show is staged at the historical Ballhaus Berlin in Mitte and conceived by International performer, director & Muse, Le Pustra (Babylon Berlin) and co-produced by Else Edelstahl Events (Bohème Sauvage).
In Kabarett der Namenlosen, Le Pustra reimagines the Weimar Republic Cabaret Culture through his own unique point of view. The show explores the sexual and artistic freedom enjoyed during those years and the aim of the production is to recapture the exhilarating Zeitgeist of the 1920’s. This celebrated period in Berlin still fascinates us today and is more popular than ever with tourists, bohemians, artists and historians visiting from far and wide in search of that elusive but well documented “divine decadence”.
Le Pustra says “I want to offer our audiences a voyeuristic glimpse into the surreal world of smoky late night “Nachtlokals” of the fabled Golden Twenties where you might meet Anita Berber and Sebastian Droste. Anything was possible and everything was available.”
The story of Kabarett der Namenlosen consists of various intertwining “flashbacks” from the past as told by its enigmatic and often malevolent Conférencier, Le Pustra and the performers who frequent the Kabarett. The show starts in 1933 when the Nazis started closing the Cabarets and gay venues which led to many artists fleeing Berlin. The show is set from the point view of the Kabarett’s habituées. Various characters appear throughout the evening in short vignettes, comedy turns and poignant performances. So leave your inhibitions at the door and enter a “smoky hallucination of sex, art, beauty and dance the night away with The Beautiful and The Damned.”
