FELLINI Gallery FELLINI Gallery Berlin has moved to Kyoto, Japan, providing Artist ateliers, studios, and artist residency in the Kyoto City Center. FELLINI Gallery was founded in 2008 in Shanghai, China.

Inspired by the works of the legendary Italian film director Federico Fellini, FELLINI is destined to be an art salon where artists and art lovers can gather to exchange ideas and inspire progress. Spread over four stories in a European style former residence in Shanghai's historic French Concession, FELLINI's exceptional location and dynamic roster of artists quickly brought it to the attention of the international art scene. The gallery's rapid success in Shanghai led to the creation of a second location in the new art capital of Europe: Berlin. FELLINI Gallery's Berlin branch is located in the vibrant and multicultural Bergmannkiez in Kreuzberg, and maintains the spirit of the original Shanghai gallery by exhibiting breathtaking art in a vast, extraordinary space. FELLINI exhibits a wide range of work in the fine arts of painting, photography, sculpture, and performance as well as groundbreaking new media. FELLINI has strong connections to established artists and collectors in China, while seeking to discover new talents in Berlin and internationally. FELLINI specializes in artist exhibitions and promotion, art consulting, interior design, and lease-sale programs. FELLINI holds regular events and collaborates with museums, chambers, libraries, and other international galleries. Our attendees are collectors, artists, art lovers, critics, and experts from various creative industries. FELLINI's goal is to dream, inspire and create.

This week we take a closer look at the artists currently showcasing their work in the VELOCITY exhibition.

Artist Highlight: Rike Beck

“As a member of the design research lab at the University of Arts in Berlin and the ‘Silk Road Fashion’ team of the German Archaeological Institute, Rike Beck works with the traces and personal belongings of the deceased. Since these mummified
corpses have been extremely well preserved, they silently carry information about their past lives. Using reconstruction techniques she extracts information about their identities, personal biographies and their culture.”

Her research was included in “The invention of trousers and its likely affiliation with horseback riding and mobility: A case study of late 2nd millennium BC finds from Turfan in eastern Central Asia”, which was published in Quaternary International (2014).
