Igor Štromajer Juxtaposes Knowledge Work with the White Cube

"’a=tF²,’ a solo show by Igor Štromajer, ’the Pavarotti of HTML,’ opens at Berlin’s panke.gallery. Drawing on the artist’s favoured tropes and aesthetics, ranging from CGA graphics to toolbar mandalas, the show juxtaposes knowledge work’s ephemera with the austerity of the white cube. On Instagram, in advance of the opening, Štromajer has teased work-in-progress, his strategically cropped previews revealing “dirty, radical, minimal” assemblages of e-junk and toy robots (image), and an adorable pint-sized workstation."

Finissage "150" · panke.gallery

This Sunday (3 October 2021) at 2 pm - Artist Talk with UBERMORGEN: https://panke.gallery/event/finissage-150

As part of the TAG DER CLUBKULTUR we will celebrate the finissage of "150: Constant Dullaart & UBERMORGEN" with an artist talk by UBERMORGEN. The artist duo will talk about the polemic anticipatory “D-Mark COIN-White Paper” - https://die-mark.io - which they have released on the occasion of the opening of the exhibition at panke.gallery in September.
https://panke.gallery/exhibition/150

Sakrowski, the curator of the exhibition, will be at Panke.gallery to do a live video call with the artists. The talk will also be streamed live on our twitch channel: https://twitch.tv/pankegallery

150 takes up the nightmarish idea of the Proclamation of the German Empire, corresponding with current Alt-Right manifestations enabled by Crypto Bro Libertarianism. In commemoration of said “150 years Germany,” UEBERMORGEN's work addresses cybernetic issues and artistically investigates informational processes in both the social and technological space.

150 takes up the nightmarish idea of the Proclamation of the German Empire, corresponding with current Alt-Right manifestations enabled by Crypto Bro Libertarianism. In commemoration of said “150 years Germany,” a polemic anticipatory “D-Mark COIN-White Paper” will be released, along with two installations that address cybernetic issues and artistically investigate informational processes in both social and technological space.

With his DullBrown™ project – dullbrown.com – Constant Dullaart distilled the dullest, most average color from the widest reference data set of photography for machine learning (ImageNet). Being broken down to the hundredths RGB (red, green, blue) value, the color is factually never shown in its true mathematical precision. The averaging of unique identifiers, streamlined by machine learning, unifies the understanding of visual concepts, and draws a clear analogy to this political symbolic color. Rendering DullBrown™ is a technical warning against the averaging of human culture by outsourced, AI decision making. The futile translation of the digital, screen based color to a physical counterpart is celebrated by transforming its closest digital rendition into an empty, platonic light-object.

The web project BREITBARD RED (Binary Primitivism) – breitbart.red – by the artist duo UBERMORGEN works as a perfidious installation at panke.gallery. The website and physical installation refers to new transcendental levels of self-improvement, tech-supremacy, and esoteric branding. BREITBART RED tells the uncomfortable truth of networked societies having become permeated by neo-fascist and male supremacy vectors. Recommendation algorithms ascend to ever more extreme levels to affiliate users and to impose imageries and immersion on them and their search for identity. This form of radicalization triggers long lost and resting emotions and actions, a kind of activation of ‘sleeping emotions’ in our bodies, minds, and societies.

"150" is the final part of the project Calculating Control - (Net)Art and Cybernetics by the Zentrum für Netzkunst.

https://transmediale.de/news/opening-of-film-programme-remote-response-request-iii-berlin-art-week

The third in a series of film-based exhibitions, remote. response. request. III. asks: what right of reply should the spectator expect from the filmic image? Installed at transmediale - festival for art and digital culture berlin studio from 15 September, the programme features the work of two artists, Chloé Galibert-Laîné and Katerina Suvorova.

https://transmediale.de/projects/remote-response-request-3

Through a series of sculptural installations, Chloé Galibert-Laîné explores the construction of spectacle within filmic images in order to equip the spectator with new ways to resist and refuse their power, through the tactics of reverse engineering. Two recent films by Galibert-Laîné accompany and expand upon the installations. A Very Long Exposure Time looks at the history of image capturing technologies and the realities they present. Forensickness is a performance-based exploration of the history of critical thinking and the ruthless politics of truth production.

For remote. response. request. III. a film of Katerina Suvorova in conversation with fellow activist and writer Moldiyar Yergebekov, Heads May Roll, focuses on the ongoing political oppression, systemic gender discrimination and colonialism’s continuing legacies in the ex-Soviet state Kazakhstan through the lens of Suvorova’s forthcoming films One Year Chronicles and Qyz Bolsyn (May It Be A Girl).

remote. response. request.

May It Be A Girl) zentrale Rollen spielen.

remote. response. request. III. ist vom 15. September bis 24. Oktober im transmediale studio zu sehen.
