Reminders from the Road in times of Quarantine -
When you're on the road, you learn to embrace uncertainty and live in the present moment.
Everything is "part of the adventure", and that's what makes each moment special.
Ups, downs... all the colours of the rainbow.
You accept challenges,
You feel like everything is possible,
You choose to go to fear instead of letting fear come to you.
It becomes fun ! It makes you feel alive.
You spend time reflecting and going inside of yourself,
Dancing with the mirrors which are disguised as all of your surroundings.
You learn to look into those mirrors as your authentic self, with honesty and courage,
You hold them up to the light.
You show up for yourself in ways you never thought you could,
And when you connect with strangers, you remember how much we all, deeply, share in common.
When you feel alone, you remember that the Earth is constantly supporting you with unconditional love and encouragement to live your fullest life.
You realize that the inter-connectedness of being is who we are.
When you're out in the middle of nowhere and the apocalyptic storm hits,
You live it
You live it in all of its extraordinary sounds and colours,
Welcoming it with an open heart and surrendering to its tremendous power.
When you're on the road,
You tell yourself everyday,
"You can do it, I believe in you"
In this silly and spontaneous song we sang one sunny morning 6 years ago - the day we left the border of Mexico and rode our bicycles 5000 km across the continent -
our chorus was:
"We're making our way on our bicycles, where we'll sleep tonight we don't know,
But we're living our lives one hill at a time,
On this road that is our home"
Today these words and lessons from the road resonate and are a nice little life reminder.
This quarantine and transition moment in humanity is much like being out in the middle of nowhere, swimming in uncertainty on the open road -
May we embrace the colours
With Love
