op-up-events from all over the world, we were still missing something. The soul and cultural depth that only is present when there is an absolute commitment to authenticity, no matter how the food looks, what it entails or how it smells. While that may often be perceived as a challenge, we see it as an opportunity. The moment a dish just doesn’t feel familiar at all, and you look into the face of the cook, who is expecting a reaction, can be an icebreaker leading beyond good food. That is why we, as the Clean Plate Society, want to create events that go beyond purely commercial. We don’t just want to bring the foods and dishes from far away to Berlin. We want to make people go there, where these specialties come from, and meet and experience the cultures, personalities and traditions behind them. To do so we plan and organize food markets, regular or special events, always with a deeper cultural reference, in different settings. To do so we may combine them with other Experiences, be that concerts, movies, etc, to offer a more complete cultural immersion.
