This wonderfull piece of maple has quite a story behind it allready. It had been hidden beneath a floor board since the 2nd world war and was discovered only recently. It will be a pleasure to shape it, make it look beautiful and prepare it for more history to come.

I am back in Berlin, and I am out there with a new website. My old one gave up on me, so that I had to make a new one. I hope it is doing its duty well enough. All the best to everyone and hope to see you soon!

It is 4 years now, that I have my workshop in our lovely space at Reichenberger Straße. It might be somewhat of an unusual setting for a violin making shop to be in a shared studio space together with people who do completely different work, but it has been an immensely inspiring time for me to be alongside with wonderful people and I think most of my customers appreciate the lively and creative and welcoming atmosphere. Over the past 4 years I had the pleasure to get to know and work with a lot of interesting musicians of various musical styles. Which is exactly the way that I want to persue my work. To be open to all sorts of different approaches to music. The purely classical musician as much as the most experimental one.

Friends and costumers told me repeatedly, that I seriously need to work on my communication, so here I am with this page and I will try my best to update it with things that will be happening here.

When I moved in here it was just me and Michael Villanueva. Concrete and violins, a fairly bizarre combination, that worked wonderfully. Due to the unpleasant development of the rent situation in Berlin we had to reshape our studio set-up a few times and we shared our work space with some great artists. Last year then our good friends, the painter David Hedderman and the product designer François-Xavier Loucheur moved in with us and the four of us have since been a rather amusing team of highly complex and chaotic individuals. The sad news is that Michael, for the time being, is moving out and following his new excitements, which leaves me a bit melancholic and puzzled by the question, with whom I should discuss the future of mankind, when I take a break from work. But we found real promising replacement with the simpatico Harm Coordes, who moves boldly between costume/stage design, fashion and art. Wonderfull things to come for sure.

We had a few beautiful concerts and I hope I will be able to organize many more. We had video shoots, radio programs, music rehearsals. Dave has started regular live drawing workshops Life Drawing Atelier 3/4, which are a real treat and add something very special to our studio. And we are planning other events to make our space even more a place of interesting encounters and will inform you when it is time.

Berlin's autumns and winters are dark and cold and always the best time of the year to hide away and work hard. I have a lot of plans for this coming winter and I am exited about getting them done.
