I haven’t posted anything on this page in maybe over a year. Even though i’m not sure the algorithm will even show this to anyone at this point I still want to express why to those who loved and cared about my work.
Having to rely on Instagram to share art and attract or sell work was a really difficult experience for me as the frequency in which you have to post is expected at a much faster rate than the time it takes to make an artwork. Along with video becoming of more importance, which just doesn’t correlate naturally with the way I create.
This pressure to keep an account active and keep making work at a rate that suited Instagrams algorithms changed my relationship with making art completely and the fluidity which I used to experience with it. I’ve had such a big creative block for so long now that I just haven’t been able to make anything and it’s so so sad.
It always felt like a constant battle with trying to get my work seen. After being incorrectly flagged for “nudity” when you’re allowed to share drawings like this and there’s no way to resolve it, no one was seeing my work anyway. On top of that I kept getting messages about people stealing my work and selling it without permission when I was earning barely anything from it and a number of incidents with clients caused me to reject it all.
The intention is always in my heart to start creating art again and I hope it won’t be too long before I find my way to do so. The messages I have received in the last years about how much my art meant to people is really touching and reminds me that I did reach people. It means a lot.
Anyway enough of the rambling, for anyone that might want to buy prints still you can find the link in my bio . I deactivated my shop for some time and won’t keep it open for long but wanted to give some of you the opportunity to buy prints again!
