Philip Wallisfurth - Senor Schnu

Murals - Love - Ultramarine - Emotions

13/06/2026

Yesterday I was at .berlin for a special .official event and honestly, it was one of those nights where everything just came together.

I painted 45 chairs, two couches, 8 oil barrels and this skateboard for the setup. Seeing all these pieces inside the space, with people sitting on them, moving around them, using them and becoming part of the whole thing, felt really good.

The room was full of great people, artists, conversations and that kind of energy you hope for when you put work into a space. yo , and .one were there, and .jea.jea.jea delivered the vibe behind the decks.

Big thank you to for inviting me and to for the production and support.

I really enjoyed this one.
Gladly again.
Gladly more often.
Gladly paint everything.

SAN HEJMO ANAMORPHIC INSTALLATION
Approx. 10 × 10 × 5 m

Spray paint / exterior paint on tram, jeep, silo, high-sea container, concrete blocks and architectural festival elements Festival, Weeze, 2025

Creating this large-scale anamorphic installation at San Hejmo Festival in Weeze was a truly special experience.

With a size of approximately 10 × 10 × 5 meters, the work stretched across a whole spatial setting in front of the Electro Stage. It was painted across many different surfaces: a tram, a jeep, a silo, a high-sea container, concrete blocks and several surrounding festival elements. From one specific viewpoint, all these separate objects came together and formed one energetic composition.

For me, the piece became an abstract reflection of the festival itself: movement, music, color, people, rhythm and positive energy connecting in one temporary space. The strong colors and dynamic lines were meant to capture that feeling of being part of something bigger a place where different elements, perspectives and people come together for a shared moment.

I’m very grateful to have been part of such a large festival setting and to create a work that could be experienced not only as a painting, but as a spatial installation people could walk around, discover and interact with.

Big thanks to .art and to for the great support.

Interspace
Anamorphic installation
Berlin Prenzlauer Berg, 2024
Created in collaboration with

I’m happy to share this work again: “Interspace”, a free anamorphic installation I created in Berlin Prenzlauer Berg in 2024.

This project was a truly special experience for me. Being able to transform this small architectural structure freely, directly in the city, and turn it into a walk-through artwork was something I’m still very grateful for.

“Interspace” is about the space between things. The space between architecture and painting, between movement and perspective, between the artwork and the person experiencing it.

As you walk around it, the piece changes with every step. Abstract forms unfold across walls, columns, roof edges and surfaces, creating shifting perspectives and unexpected visual connections. The viewer becomes part of the work, not only by looking at it, but by moving through it.

For me, this is exactly what makes anamorphic and spatial artworks so powerful: they invite people to discover, to interact, and to experience art in their own way.

A big thank you to for the collaboration and the opportunity to create this work, and to for this beautiful night shot.

Also thank you to for the production and .raisen for the assistance.

Showing work matters.

For me, exhibiting art is not only about sales or immediate financial return. Of course, that part matters, especially as an independent artist, but the real value often begins when the work enters a physical space.

Paintings need to be experienced in person. They change with the light, with the architecture, with the people standing in front of them. A gallery space can create exactly that: a focused moment where the work can breathe, open up and start a real dialogue.

I would love to show my work more often in strong gallery contexts, project spaces and curated exhibitions. My practice moves between urban contemporary art, abstraction, spatial thinking and a strong connection to architecture and I believe it can bring a powerful, positive energy into the right rooms.

So this is also an open invitation to galleries, curators and art spaces: if you are looking for contemporary abstract work with urban roots, strong visual presence and a clear sense of space, I would be happy to connect.

Thank you to everyone who takes the time to look, ask questions, feel something and be part of these moments.

Opposés essentiels II
43.5 × 33.5 × 3.5 cm
Oil crayon and spray paint on canvas, incl. shadow gap frame
Berlin, 2026

Opposés essentiels II is the counterpart to the previous work from this series, continuing the dialogue between contrast and balance, raw structure and vibrant energy.

The natural canvas remains visible and becomes an essential part of the composition. Its rough textile surface gives the work a grounded, almost quiet presence, while the vivid fragments of color break through with intensity. The bright colors appear like traces, movements or memories layered into the material.

For me, this piece is about opposites that do not cancel each other out, but create tension, rhythm and life. The work feels reduced, yet full of movement. Calm and energy, emptiness and density, control and chance all meet within one frame.

Part of the Essentiel series, this work focuses on what remains when everything unnecessary is stripped away.

Multiperspectivity (Solo Exhibition)
Thank you, Cologne.

I’m still deeply grateful for the energy, the conversations, and the incredibly positive feedback around my last exhibition. Seeing so many people come together, take their time, ask questions, connect with the works, and experience the space as a whole means a lot to me.

Especially in times that are not always easy, this kind of response gives me the feeling that the path I’m on is the right one. It was beautiful to hear that the exhibition managed to bring positivity and quality together, and that the room itself became more than a place to show artworks. It became an experience.

A very special thank you goes to for making his showroom available and trusting the process. And of course, thank you to everyone who came, supported, shared thoughts, opened new conversations, and maybe even planted the seeds for future projects together.

As David Bowie once said:
“I don’t know where I’m going from here, but I promise I won’t bore you.”

That feels pretty close to the spirit of this journey.

Gradations Essentielles Mixtes
(Mixed Essential Gradations)
80 × 105 cm
Spray paint, ink, acrylic and oil crayon on canvas
Berlin, 2026

Some parts of this work took much longer to build, while others happened in just a few seconds.

The vertical lines were created with a special technique using ink and thinner, where control and chance meet directly on the canvas. I can guide the movement, choose the direction and prepare the surface, but in the end the material also decides for itself. That tension is what keeps the work alive for me.

The composition brings together soft gradients, strong color fields, flowing drops and sharp abstract forms. An abstract line moves through the lower part of the painting almost like a signature, winding around the drops and fragments of the tag.

For me, Gradations Essentielles Mixtes is about energy in transition. It holds the moment where something planned becomes open, where color starts to flow, and where a simple movement can turn into something full of rhythm, depth and positivity.

Fragments Essentiels III
25 × 25 × 3 cm
Spray paint on wood panel
Berlin, 2026

This work continues my exploration of how fragments, traces and gestures can come together to form a larger visual language. As part of a three-piece group with the same title, Fragments Essentiels III focuses on reduction and tension while still carrying the energy of the street.

I am interested in the way surfaces in cities slowly build themselves over time through layers, interruptions, overlaps and unexpected combinations. In this piece, those impressions are translated into a concentrated composition: a dialogue between soft transitions and sharp forms, between calm structure and intuitive movement.

The strong contrast between the luminous red and the cooler blue tones creates a balance of energy and stillness. For me, that is where the work becomes alive: in the space between intention and spontaneity, between clarity and openness. Even in a small format, I wanted the piece to hold a sense of movement, positivity and quiet complexity.

As part of the wider Essentiel series, this work reduces things to what feels necessary while still allowing feeling, rhythm and atmosphere to unfold.

Studio Moment

Sometimes the best works happen when I stop thinking too much and simply start moving.

This piece was created directly in my studio on the wooden walls where I usually paint my canvases. This time, the wall itself became the artwork. A canvas is integrated into the composition in the upper left corner, almost like a piece within the piece, blending studio, process and painting into one spontaneous moment.

It was painted quickly, within just a few hours, without a fixed plan or too many decisions in advance. I followed the colors, the rhythm, the feeling and the energy of the moment. What came out is a mix of abstraction, movement, urban structure and pure creative impulse.

For me, this work is a reminder that positivity is not always something you wait for. Sometimes you create it by doing. By starting. By trusting your intuition. By allowing color, movement and creativity to lead the way.

Listen to your feelings. Stay open. Create before you overthink.
