We are pleased to announce our upcoming and final exhibition of our first season:

FLORENCE AIGNER
June 29th–July 27th, 2013
PERIPHERIES AND BORDERLESS NARRATIVES

Aigner's photography explores the peripheries of perception and cross-cultural encounters by way of an intuitive assemblage practice. Her work speaks through layers, reflections and textures, evoking not just what can be seen, but also the sensual experience of movement and memory. The images exhibited in this show originated when she and filmmaker Laurent Van Lancker travelled overland from Belgium to Vietnam for the making of SURYA, a collaborative film/art project involving storytellers from ten different cultures. In breaking with the structured, transcultural narrative of the film, Aigner's work proposes a mesmerising, poetic juxtaposition of time, place, material cultural and lived experience.
