William N.Copley’s duo exhibition with Dorothy Iannone, ‘See Yourself as Lovers See You’, is currently on view at the Philara Collection, Düsseldorf, until 14 January 2024.

Focusing on freedom, self-determination and the ecstasy of physical love, the exhibition highlights the interconnections and differences in the work of Copley and lannone, two American artists whose careers developed in Europe and who continued to produce remarkably comprehensive bodies of work right up to the end of their lives.

Edmund de Waal’s duo exhibition with Axel Salto, 'Playing with Fire', is currently on view at CLAY, Museum of Ceramic Art Denmark, Middelfart, until 11 August 2024.

Curated by de Waal, the exhibition brings together a major new installation by the artist with works by the acclaimed Danish ceramicist Axel Salto.

‘Axel Salto is one of the greatest artists of the twentieth century,’ writes de Waal. ‘He created a unique body of ceramic work that continues to fascinate me. His sculptures seem to be on the point of change: glazes are caught in flux. Vases swell as if to burst.’

A solo exhibition of works by Grace Weaver is currently on view at Hetzler | Marfa, until 10 December 2023.

Presenting a new body of work made during a residency in Marfa, ‘Indoor Paintings’. The exhibition sees Weaver’s iconic characters lounge in domestic environments. By bringing the figures into the private realm, the artist examines the spectrum of emotions that can arise when alone. Weaver’s larger than life figures possess a sense of ambiguity, their expressions unintelligible, evoking feelings spanning self-reflection to procrastination, relaxation to anxiety.

Inge Mahn’s sculpture ‘Kugel mit Forke’, 2016,  is currently on view in our Window Gallery at Goethestraße 2/3, until 6 January 2024.

Over a career spanning five decades, German sculptor Inge Mahn consciously alienated the commonplace, sensibly manipulating everyday motifs to unlock a range of incongruous possibilities. Working predominantly with white plaster, the artist estranged objects through raw modelling, re-contextualisation, subtle subtractions and additions, creating a universe of unimagined possibilities.

Hans Josephsohn’s solo exhibition is currently on view in our Berlin gallery at Bleibtreustraße 45 & 15/16.

Over the course of his six-decade long career, Josephsohn was concerned with representing the human being as a figure in space. Formed in plaster before being cast in brass, his sculptures are characterised by an ambivalence of the almost abstract figure whose individuality is secured by its form, material and surface.

Katharina Grosse’s solo exhibition, ‘Warum Drei Töne Kein Dreieck Bilden’, is currently on view at Albertina, Vienna, until 1 April 2024.

The exhibition presents new works by Grosse created onsite for the museum’s Columned Hall. Spreading out over the historic hall’s ceiling, walls and floor, Grosse’s groundbreaking form of expanded painting both transcends the ‘white cube’ and addresses architectural history. Visitors enter into the artist’s vibrating fields of colour, thereby shaking up accustomed ways of seeing and embracing an immediate experience of three-dimensional art.

OPENING TODAY: Richard Prince’s solo exhibition 'Body' opens today in our Berlin gallery, at Potsdamer Straße 77-87. Please join us for the opening, from 6 – 8 pm.

Cropped, pasted, painted and scanned, the exhibited works testify to the longstanding importance of the corporeal in Prince’s oeuvre. In these works, Prince splinters and reassembles photographic fragments of the female figure with varying degrees of legibility. The resulting collages assemble a new ‘body’, complicating notions of authorship and building on the tradition of figure painting.

OPENING FRIDAY: Richard Prince’s solo exhibition 'Body' opens on 3 November, in our Berlin gallery, at Potsdamer Straße 77-87.  Please join us for the opening, from 6 – 8 pm.

Marking Prince’s second solo presentation with the gallery, the exhibition places a renewed emphasis on the importance of the corporeal in his oeuvre. In these compositions, Prince splinters and reassembles photographic fragments of the female figure with varying degrees of legibility. The resulting collages assemble a new ‘body’, complicating notions of authorship and building on the tradition of figure painting.

OPENING THIS WEEK: Richard Prince’s solo exhibition 'Body' opens on Friday, 3 November from 6 – 8 pm, in our Berlin gallery, at Potsdamer Straße 77-87.

Since the late 1970s, Prince has chronicled a wealth of images that haunt the American psyche – from cowboys and biker chicks to cars, nurses, and gag cartoons. The works presented in ‘Body’ testify to the longstanding importance of the figure in his practice. Fragmented and removed from their original context, some body parts remain recognisable, while others appear entirely abstracted.

Giulia Andreani’s first institutional solo show in her native Italy is now on view at Collezione Maramotti, Reggio Emilia, until 10 March 2024.

Titled ‘L’improduttiva’, the exhibition presents a cohesive body of new work, with large-scale paintings and watercolours. Prossima apertura | L'improduttiva
