On my wall at the moment waiting for it to say ….I’m done.

The painting has said it a few times but I ignored its judgement and trusted mine.

I am drawn to a visual chaos and order at the moment.
Somehow we humans strive for order and clarity but life just doesn’t always deliver that…hence the chaos.
So if I can contain the chaos in my art sometimes visibly sometimes only sparingly then I hope life becomes art.

Because Life can be fudgin crazy at times.

When the world feels dark look for the light.

The Sunbeam Series is a little project I started whereby people could buy a small painting, I’m talking really small, 4x4 up to 7x7cm.

Why so small? These small paintings can be kept in a pocket or purse and would be a reminder that the recipient is thought of and someone is there for them if need be.
The message intended was to send love, warmth and positive thoughts.

Making them is fun as the intense yellows vibrate an energy of positivity and hope.

Little did I know, what that meant until my husband was diagnosed with a primary brain tumour.
The sunbeams have known taken on a new meaning and I am pleased that I am constantly asked if I have some available and therefore am always in production.

Today is the start of a new normal.
Sending love and light to all.

A little Haiku for my very special birthday.

Remember to rejoice.
Life is precious and at times precarious.

Tough times are ahead for my family but we are feeling so much love from all corners of the globe.

Heartfelt thanks and gratitude.

Rising Sea by El Anatsui is an artist from Ghana was this piece was one of the major highlights for me at the Guggenheim in Bilbao.

His process and aesthetic are so mind boggling beautiful and then there is the scale so you are almost engulfed by a curtain of dazzling metal elements , each attached individually to create an abstraction.

It was really an aha moment regarding art.

Outside photographing a uni assignment, and on reviewing they look like they are levitating. Spooky.
It is so hot here in Germany and as my studio is downstairs its a wonderful space to be in so my assignments are done with great pleasure.

Paint can be used in many ways and has its own materiality.

Watered down, thickly applied, wet or dry, dripped and scraped, endless opportunities and thats what makes painting so fascinating.

Uni explorations back to basics but a refresh is always good.

As an artist you have to look, process and filter.

My project in ephemeral art was looking at making the familiar, spectacular again.

With the help of a frame I could focus on my surroundings and select a miniature that made me look closely and see it with a new perspective.

Being an artist means always having your eyes open to all the little wonders in the world.
I’m sure these landscapes, colours and lines will work there way into future artworks.

Until then I’m busy collecting.

A big shout out to my husband who supported me through the exhibition weekend.
We played around at the end trying to do fancy photos, unfortunately with limited success.
Here‘s the best one.
Taken after the last visitor had left.

There cheers for all those that support their families or friends with their creative pursuits.

One of the joys of art is the human connections that come from it.

I chose just one picture to show this but I had so many wonderful connections over the weekend.

6500 visitors over 3 days.
I am to say the least a little tired.

Thanks to for the photo, capturing the connection.

Industrial charm meets colour explosion.

What fun I had last night with so many wonderful conversations in a great atmosphere, live music, delicious catering and drinks.

The event had an official opening from the Aschaffenburg Department of Culture and approximately 800 people visited on the first evening.

Doors open at 4 pm today.

Small and big works available at MenschWERK.

I love the delicacy in these paintings, the size of a paperback, so I’ve. Alles Holiday Romance because I always pick a super cheesy book to read on holidays.

What I call the „no brainer“.

So, some of you may know some maybe not.

Currently, I am doing a Bachelor of Fine Art and Visual Culture, at the University of Curtin in West Australia.

Whilst it takes me away from painting it still fires my creativity.

I am loving every minute so far as it opens my eyes and mind to so many more possibilities and challenges.

Every now and then I‘ll post some pics from my studies.

This one looked at the attainment of knowledge.

Framing chaos on a sunny day.

Is it only my problem that I have to try my hardest not to scratch the frames before the exhibition.
Each painting will be wrapped and packed for the transport.
It’s quite a process to get paintings hung.

I have wall space but somehow I always end up on the floor.
Just enjoy looking down at works more than on a wall.
Of course it depends on the size and as these are little fellas, it was the floor.
From the holiday romance series for the upcoming exhibition

I haven’t posted for ages as I seem to be more on the stories trip at the moment.
Settling back into German life and weather…..say no more.
But I’m teleporting myself back to the sunny days of Australia through my explorations.
Small landscape st6dies in development for the exhibition.

On the way home, after 3 weeks of reconnecting with old friends my places but for now I‘m still in transit as I head back to Germany.

I‘ve seen so much and am hoping to channel the warmth and the recognition of landscape elements into my new works for the exhibition in April.

Looking forward to getting in the studio.

Generally I have colour schemes next to the works in progress as I have a tendency to over do it at times, just add another colour then another etc etc, so these gentle reminders keep me in touch with my intention.

Although rules get broken all the time. This was a pinkish painting that’s now blue.

Everything is open until you sign and the signature seals the fate of what’s up and what’s down.

An amazing energiser for me as I fight the grey days with vibrant colours.

With this small series of poles I am focussing on high contrast, warmth and pattern.
Still in the middle of the process and some sanding may occur at one point.

Wait and see what comes out at the end but at the moment it’s great to be working again.

Let there be light,

the clocks have changed and now the days are shorter and colder.
As a remedy for the winter blues I chose yellow because in all forms it brings light energy and optimism.
These little pocket sunbeams are being made for a charity event in my village.

I am hoping to bring warmth, optimism and a little cash to those in need.
