You can recognize Luis Xertu ‘s paintings at first glance by their earthier colors and, above all, the flower, and sometimes the fabrics, that accompany them.

Where do the plants in the paintings come from, and what is their significance? Why do the figures so often immerse themselves in water, and what does the water symbolize? In this two-part interview, we discuss these topics, the upcoming exhibition “Halfway across the Rubicon”, at PODIUM and the difficult themes that underpin his work.
