"When the Stage Falls Silent", Oil on Canvas, 60x60cm, 2024
Part of the "Flickering Mirrors in the Theatrical Dressing Room" series, a series of paintings exploring the metaphor of life as theater and play. Reflections in the dressing room mirrors reveal a multitude of destinies, masks, human manifestations, and emotions.
Shimmering mirrors
hold forgotten roles.
Each one has left its trace.
When the stage falls silent,
another game begins.
The actor remains alone
with his final avatar.
He no longer asks for a role -
he is grateful for it.
Not the crown, not the fame,
not the gaze of the audience -
only the lived experience.
The boa on his shoulders
is not a mask, but memory.
In the game of life,
even the final exit
is a new level.
In this game, there are no lost roles -
only experience.
Every role was needed,
every mask was a lesson.
