Wayyy overdue post, but this was something I did last Christmas as a personal challenge and project.
I was brainstorming on what to give for Christmas that wasn't just "another item", especially for "non-material attachment" family members.

I just cooked up this sudden idea of linoprint out of absolutely NOWHERE.
I had never ever done it before. But, I had a vision ✨
So I went to town with it. And this was one of the perks of having a decorative bird as a family name.
Bažant means Pheasant in Czech.

It was meticulous because I had to research and learn everything bout lino. And on top of that, I wanted a glorious festive themed print.
Designing and experimenting with which parts to leave in or carve out took awhile.
Then the journey of which and where to get all those tools.
And realising I had to do a much bigger size than initially intended. (I tend to go crazy when it comes to details)

But. We got everything. We learned. Far from ideal but it wasn't too bad I would say :) next post to show u my design process.

— Kuraiha the Nocturne Vixen & Chōen the Bat Daemon. 🦊🦇
On the cusp of a blood eclipse, Kuraiha, the nine-tailed fox spirit (kitsune), was bitten by a vampire bat demon seeking bloodlust.
As the night sky turned blood red, Kuraiha let out a cry of agony. Her golden flame turned to pale ash, and from the silence of her last heart beat, birthed Chōen - a bat daemon that listens to the tremors of the soul.
Part kitsune and part vampire, where she walks, words die in the throat, and beauty feeds on its own reflection.

July dump. A lot of food making. A lot of animals.

1. Lagú Gá (Viet Chicken Ragu)
2. Baked parmesan cheese cake.
3. Cleaning carbon pans at work.
4. Český sen. Náplň do knedlíků (Czech dumpling filling)
5. Staff meal! Mushroom veg fried rice with black pepper pulled beef.
