Imogen Heap, resynthesized on a Kastle 2 ✨

Open-sourcing Kastle 2 keeps surprising us. sxilence has been building a spectral resynthesizer for the Kastle architecture, and it already works like a charm. It’s a community firmware and still in progress. Coming out with it soon!

Patch notes for the haunted lamp 🎃

There are actually 2 piezos on it, so we pick up sound from the whole lamp. DÉJÀ VU amplifies and mixes them.

From there they go into 2 BASIL stereo delays in series, one into the other. Long delay times, lots of feedback and the BLUR setting.

The trick that makes it melodic is speed division, mapped to the CTRL k**b.

There's also a manual feedback loop. The left channel of the second BASIL goes back into the second channel of DÉJÀ VU, gets mixed with the piezos and feeds the first BASIL. The channel 2 fader sets how much comes back.

Any delay works for this. Try other settings or other modules and see where it goes.

Turning drums into melodies with Kastle 2 + Thyme+ 🥁➡️🎶

Thanks to Karplus-Strong synthesis in Thyme+, a simple drum loop can turn into something completely melodic.

A melody, a rhythm, and a little delay for taste ✨

Kastle 2 Wave Bard makes it way too easy to start with something simple and keep twisting it into something completely different.
