rld and external expression, her work exhibits control and freedom in equal measure. As real as it is symbolic. Razani has moved from portraiture, to figurative expression to whimsical abstraction and emerging expressions of her Persian heritage and further extending into 3D on canvas. The titles of her work, poems in themselves, invite the viewer to engage in the narrative of each painting which illuminates a layering of experience in fluid conversation between abstraction and realism.

♦️Mixed feeling when I sell my art! This is why:
🔥 After the fire in 2017, when my husband and I lost our home in South Africa along with all our belongings, including 50 of my original paintings I felt an overwhelming grief. Eighteen years of passion, love, and effort disappeared in just five minutes.

🔷️ Now, when I sell a painting, the feeling is completely different from the pain of losing them in the fire. Selling a painting doesn’t feel like it’s gone forever, it feels more like I can’t see it anymore, but it has gone on to live an exciting new life somewhere else.
