Dear Members

• Last weekend was the Shooters Club Compak trial which was won by Tim Hubner on 197. Amelda Greyling won the Ladies with Corne Grimmbacher coming in 3rd; Ian Grimmbacher won the Seniors and Neil Meyeridricks ended a close second in the Juniors.

• It was also the Eastern Cape Standards Graaff Reinet and the Valley manne did very well Jaco de Wet won the Trap and Pete Stenslunde shot a straight in Trap ! The Trench was won by Luca Peacock on 88. In the Skeet Markus Bonsma ended 2nd on 93 and Pete Stenslunde ended 3rd Pete also shot the best score of the weekend on the Sunday, a 97! Markus Bonsma won the Skeet Doubles.

• We did a snap survey amongst the various Whatsapp groups and there was very little interest in shooting this Saturday. It is not worth our while opening for just a handful of members so it was decided by the Committee to give Anton and his team a well-earned break; so, the club will be closed this Saturday

Wishing you and your families all the best over the Easter weekend and please travel safely.

Ewan shot a superb 97 in Skeet to end third as he could not attend the shoot off. Wow that is some impressive shooting well done Valley Manne!

Dear Members

• Last week we held your clubs AGM and it was very well attended, thanks to all those who did. The Committee that was elected for the coming year is Peer Iuel (Chairman), Johannes Grobbelaar (Vice Chair), Henri Bonsma (Treasurer), Rob Henderson (Secretary), Charl de Villiers and John Steyn . Simon Smith will be seconded onto the Committee and Ian Grimmbacher is our Club Captain. I am pleased to report that your club is in good shape, and we look forward to a very exciting year ahead. Welcome on-board John and Charl!

• During the year Ivar Kvale stood down as Secretary of the club due to work commitments. On behalf of the Committee and all the members I would like to thank him for his massive contribution to the club over the years. I sincerely hope that in the not-too-distant future his workload eases up as he would always be most welcome back onto the committee. Thank you, Ivar!

• The most important award made at the AGM was the Club Contribution. It was unanimously decided to award it to Pete Stenslunde. Pete really is a very worthy winner; his contribution to the club is greatly appreciated especially his tree planting initiative that he has undertaken. In a few years’ time we it is going to look awesome and hopefully we will not be too old to appreciate all the shady spots at Valley. Thank you so much Pete!

Dear Members

• Congratulations to the WC Chairman’s Cup team on coming second overall to Free State with Limpopo coming a very close 3rd. The Trap team of Quinten, Gideon and Jaco won the team event, an excellent effort; the Trench ended 3rd Our Juniors: Markus, Neil, Ewan, Joubert and Luca shot extremely well. Huge congrats to Vrystaat they were superb!

• I think you are all well aware that our currency is particularly weak ( it has devalued by 20% this year)and this has led to a sharp rise in our input costs (clays, machines, fuel and electricity) so on the back of that we have unfortunately have to increase our subs for the 2022 year by roughly 8.5% to R3800 ( Juniors, Seniors and Vets R1900) The cost of shooting tickets for 2022 will also have to be increased for Standard disciplines to R120 and Sporting to R140. Your invoice will be sent out in the course of the day, please could you make very effort to pay it as soon as possible, at the Krismis shoot would be great!

• This Saturday is the Krismis Shoot, the best event of the year. It is not too late to enter and it promises to be great fun, fantastic food, great camaraderie, wonderful prizes and just a good opportunity to support your club and have fun with your mates and family. Please give Anton a shout if you have not entered and would like to on 071 451 0486. There will also be a Fun Flush team shoot held in front of the club house, get a team of 4 together and enter.

• Just a reminder to all of those who want to get involved in assisting the club with corporate shoots the first training course for you to get your SAPS clearance to help with these will be held on 22 January 22 ; get hold of Anton if you want to get involved please 071 4510486.

• As the 4th COVID wave is about to hit us please remember to SANITIZE,WEAR A MASK AND SOCIAL DISTANCE

Please make every effort to join us on Saturday it would be great to see you all
