🎬 “The Mole”: A Documentary Thriller about North Korea — Screening and Discussion with Film Critic Egor Sennikov

🎤 Guest Speaker — Katya Arenina, journalist from “Proekt”

What connects North Korea, underground drug production, illegal arms trade, and African diplomacy? Danish director Mads Brügger, known for his provocative investigations, doesn’t just study these topics—he immerses himself in them.

🔍 In “The Red Chapel,” he pretended to be a communist to stage a stand-up show in Pyongyang.
💎 In “The Ambassador,” he bought diplomatic status and got involved in the diamond business in the Central African Republic.
🕵️‍♂️ And in “The Mole,” Danish citizen Ulrich Larsen, inspired by Brügger’s films, decided to infiltrate North Korea’s secret operations — and discovered more than he expected.

After the screening, Egor Sennikov and Katya Arenina will discuss:
— Are Brügger’s works considered journalism?
— Can his experience be replicated?
— And what do his films tell us about the world today?

📅 February 6 at 19:00
📽 Film Language: Danish, English, Korean (with Russian subtitles).

🔥 A lecture we’ve all been waiting for!

“What’s Hiding Behind Dživdžan? Exploring Serbia Through Memes”

📢 Speakers:

🎤 Alexander Zheludkov (creator of the Telegram channel “Serbian Memes”)
— Why is a TV company owner called “dead” when he’s still alive?
— What did Serbs ask Tucker Carlson after his interview with Putin?
— Why did Aleksandar Vučić give interviews to adult magazines?
— Which movies are quoted in Serbian memes the most?

We’ll dive into Serbian internet culture and decode the local humor, mentality, and media landscape!

🎤 Sergey Khrykov (creator of the Telegram channel “Brdo, I’m Your Bro”)
For a linguist, memes are like Polaroid snapshots of language 📸 They teach us new words, make us happy when we get the joke, and frustrate us when the wordplay is too tricky. We’ll break down the linguistic side of memes and figure out why Serbian sometimes feels so familiar… yet so confusing 😅
