IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT: Dear friends, after completing our last project and workshop, we have decided to put a halt to any and all future plans for the Balkan Writers Project for the time being. We have spent four of the best years with all of you, doing rewarding and inspiring work and it was a real privilege doing the work we love within such a great community of people.

However, due to various other personal and professional obligations, our team made the decision to take a break from organizing further initiatives for the foreseeable future.

We are so grateful for all of you who participated and supported us. The challenges, victories and achievements that these four years brought to us, the hard work and the fun times, bringing people together, sharing our love of English and the written word were truly an extraordinary and cherished experience.

At this time, we part ways with you, but all of the people involved will forever be part of this beautiful community of artists, writers and creatives - we have accomplished so many things together and we are forever thankful to each and every one of you

On July 13th the White City Wordsmiths, a creative writing workshop, celebrated the publication of their 4th anthology of short stories and poems "White City Wordsmiths: Volume IV", with a public reading event in Belgrade, Serbia. The workshop was coordinated by Jelena Petrović (Pluvia Lugosi Wasquez), the White City Wordsmiths Project Leader.

This project brings together talented young writers to share their works, develop and nurture their style, and support each other in this creative collective. The participants of the workshop produced the original pieces, edited the manuscript, and organized the promotional event. The cover design was done by Ana Nikolić (Cain Lavellan) and the book design by Катарина Шотић.

The book launch held at the Belgrade Youth Centre in coordination with the Američki kutak Beograd - American Corner Belgrade. Opening remarks were given by EL Fellow Jean Salisbury Linehan, Jelena Petrović and the BWP manager and coordinator Irena Raicevic. After the public reading by the authors, the members of the audience had an opportunity to meet the writers and get a free copy of the book.

We are grateful to everyone who helped us make this project such a success, and especially to the Wordsmiths themselves, who, year after year, make this endeavor truly worthwhile. Thank you to all who came to the event and celebrated with us :)
