The Red-eyed tree frog doesn’t use its bright colors to hide—it uses them to startle.

During the day, it stays perfectly still with its eyes closed and legs tucked in, blending into the green leaves. But when a predator gets too close, it suddenly opens its bright red eyes and flashes its blue and orange sides. This “shock display” can confuse or scare predators just long enough for the frog to make a quick escape.

These incredible insects are the ultimate masters of camouflage. To protect themselves from predators, they don't just look like twigs—they even sway gently from side to side to mimic a branch moving in the breeze! 🍃💨

🔍 Fun Facts:
Night Owls: They are mostly nocturnal, which means they blend in by day and get active by night.

Gentle Giants: Despite their creepy-crawly look, they are completely harmless herbivores.

Regrowth Magic: If a young walking stick loses a leg to a predator, they can actually regenerate it during their next molt! 🦎✨
